On a Sunday afternoon, an F-35B Lightning 2 jet, belonging to Marine Fighter Attack Training Squadron 501, from Joint Base Charlton suffered a mishap.
The pilot parachuted into South Kenwood Drive, just a few yards from the airbase in North Charleston.
What's intriguing is that the pilot landed here, while the fighter jet may have travelled another 30 to 80 miles on its own Williamsburg County.
According to sources, the presumed landing point for the jet would be north of the airbase, and Lake Moultrie, and Lake Marion, are the possible areas where the crash debris, might be located where water here are 75 feet deep.
Based on the missing plane's location and trajectory, the search for the F-35 Lightning 2 jet might involve submersion in these bodies of water, which are around 75 feet deep.

Stealth didn't help that one much at all, it probably got him shot, because he was probably flying low in order to be even more stealthy, and I suspect that probably played a role in the loss.

@@glennjames7107 stealth doesn't make you invisible, even f-22 and f-35 show up on radar eventually. The F-117 was shot down by a Cold war type missile with a modified warhead to lock onto radio chatter as the pilot flew the exact same path over and over while constantly talking on the radio. so launched a missile in the expected direction and they got lucky it hit. very impressive and genius move by Serbs! But they don't fly the same path and keep radio chatter down.... well that's why they only got one lol.

For anyone saying the stealth made F-35 undetectable: the US military has a way to detect and track its own Stealth Jet (otherwise the US air defense would've shot it as soon as it comes into radar). This is true for all military, all military assets must be trackable by its own because if any goes completely stealth & rogue it can posses danger, lost of coordination & risk of friendly fire.
American government are not the only one who are able to detect the stealth jet.
Iran 🇮🇷 down over 5 USA UAVs from 2011 to 2022 including Q-9 global Hawk.
And Russia 🇷🇺🇷🇺 down one of such reconnaissance drones.

The squadron is out of Marine Corps Air Station Beaufort which is 60 miles to the south of Charleston. I'd like to know who told you JB Charleston. I would also like to know why Public Affairs in Charleston took the lead. "A few yards from the from the Air Base"..... That's just stupid. The military branches are very territorial over such issues as these for obvious reasons. I flew fighters out of Beaufort and will tell you the Public Affairs Officer who released the initial information was really misleading. " The Marine have lost a fighter and can't find it" or words to that effect. I know what service did that it makes me angry.

The expectation that the F-35 would immediately replace 2 F-16 and A-10 aircraft did not work. The F-35 cannot fully replace the F-16 and A-10. It is two times inferior to them in terms of the number of weapons that can be taken on a flight, and this means that in one expensive flight it will be able to hit half as many targets. And it is unlikely that the total price of these goals will ever cost more than the F-35 itself costs with all the maintenance. It is also inferior to the F-16 in maneuverability in close air combat at low altitudes. But with such omissions, the F-35 will replace the F-16. But replacing the A-10 would be even more inferior. In addition to a three times smaller combat load, the F-35 will be a very timid aircraft. Because he will never be able to go where it is hot and hot. You can eject at any time even on the ground, just pilot usually eject once there is no hope of saving the aircraft

If the plane was so damaged the pilot thought he had to eject, how is it plane continued to fly another 80 miles without him? Doesn’t sound like it was all that dire a circumstance with a plane he would know has a zero/zero ejection seat
They have an auto terrain avoidance system. These things have happened multiple times in the past.
Nothing replaces the A10. A10 design to limp home half blown up, f35 wont do that
fool there has been 107 Class A mishaps for the A10 with 713 built in total. 10 of the 1000 F35s have crashed.
Wish the video continued with the helmet capabilities and added more content on the forward radar arrays and cyber watfare capabilities.

If a pilot punches out and the jet FLYS 80 more miles. The pilot should be fired and lic pulled. If any pilot punches out over, subdivtions filled with children, he should be charged. There traning is to go down with the craft, and guide it, till the last second...to ( as safe of a crash site as he can find. )
