He's so well spoken. He was one of the first men that I think introduced me to more outlandish forms of filmmaking. His version of Gatsby was so lush and beautiful. His filter work is perfect and his angles are incredibly sharp. I feel like he had an impact on my style more than Spielberg.

This channel is such a force for good in the film world. Giving not only actors and directors, but sound guys, cinematographers, composers, producers and everyone else a chance to speak for however long about whatever they think is important. Thank you thank you thank you.

Baz would approve of your framing here. He's probably my favorite person you've interviewed, great work!

It's at The Plaza hotel in NY, Joe. Of course, their Plaza was a set and laid in background of the park.

Luhrmann has gone (brilliantly) from a Shakespeare's novel to fin du siecle Paris to an Aussie labour of love to an All American story. It would be GREAT if he moves to an Asian Epic romance for his next project. What about: Puccini's MADAMA BUTERFLY ? set in modern Japan with the original opera score. I would REALLY love he made that!!!!

Why? Thanks to him DiCaprio won the silver bear for "Romeo+Juliet" at the berlin festival which was directed by him. And if he worked again with him its because maybe he feels affection for him.

Where was this shot? He references the room as a location in the book/film.

There is a very honest way of talking and expression when he speaks... :)

If NOT Madama Butterfly, what about an All SouthAmerican tragic love-story? Manuel Puig's Heartbreak Tango seems tailor made for Luhrmann's vision. IS there a way Baz Luhrmann can read this?????

Judging by audience reviews - as opposed to self important critics with axes to grind - DiCaprio made the right decision working with this guy.

You don't know him personally at all (and I doubt you know Dicaprio personally either) so I don't think you can judge him.

Um, it's called being eccentric. Plenty of celebrity types, rock stars etc, are eccentric, but it doesn't make them gay.

Baz Luhrmann always over indulgent in his artistic creations. ewww fucking hate his movies.

His spectacle is too life-affirming for Gatsby. A mismatch of style + content for me. Master + Margarita is a much better fit.
