    In the English version from 0:56 onward, this song is absolutely dreadful because the syllables of the "all about you's" are SUPER off beat. In this version, the syllables are properly syncopated and it flows SO much better.

    For the most part, Fever did a great job with the English localization, and while I think English Love Rap is pretty good, the Japanese version is much better, mainly due to how well it flows. The "All about you" cues in English always seem so odd and hard to time, but they mesh nicely here

      Honestly, I thought the English voice was surprisingly close. What it ultimately comes down to is the difference in intonation and inflection inherent in the different syllable structures of different languages. The translation was good and the voice was good, it's simply a matter of the way different languages are structured and the way they stress different syllable sounds.
      Additionally, it's easier to consider something you don't understand more soothing because you're not listening to and comprehending words, you're listening to the sound alone. If you don't speak Japanese, it might sound more soothing or relaxing than your native language by simple virtue of you not processing individual words. Essentially, it's the difference between listening to a song's instrumental and its normal version. Often, the instrumental sounds more soothing.
      I like both versions, though I prefer listening to this version because it's fairly relaxing simply because I don't understand Japanese. You are correct, though. The English version couldn't be better.

    The description says that the video was originally recorded in 480p/60fps. I wish UA-cam’s max fps in 480p wasn’t 30fps. The Wii lets you set your resolution to 480p/60fps for HDTV and component cables, which actually has better resolution than 480i/576i using AV cables because they’re interlaced.

      @omicron1100 6 років тому +81

      In Japan you can change up where you stress the "syllable" without changing the meaning; at least in songs, they will do this frequently. When they say "suki nanda", the girl stresses the "ki" and the guys are stressing the "su", but it doesn't change the meaning of the word in the phrase

    • @NightCrawler36910
      @NightCrawler36910 3 роки тому +12

      Because the lead vocals and background vocals need to be in different rhythms so that timing is easier and it sounds more fluid. As for the japanese, certain things can be said different ways and have the same meaning. Su can be pronounced as s and have the same meaning.

    Why are a lot of the Japanese words in Katakana here? I thought it was only used for loan words. For example, she says ほんと a lot, but it's written as ホント.

    • @animatrix1490
      @animatrix1490 7 років тому +66

      tBlizzi You probably don't care anymore, but katakana can also be used for sound effects or to give the impression of a "sharper" sound (emphasis) to a word or phrase, kind of like italics.

Like the person earlier said, it's a stylistic choice to make things pop a little bit more, which makes a lot of sense here because it's a rap track. So they did that to make it look cooler
