This video details the 5 things that I dislike about my Chevrolet Silverado High Country. Please keep in mind that these are just the flaws I see in the truck, and that I am in no way upset with my purchase of this pickup.
This is just a fun video and popular topic on UA-cam, so thought I’d make it for your entertainment and informational purposes if you are considering a similar truck (such as the GMC Sierra, similar year models.)

I love how well you speak. truly impressive. casual direct and comforting.
An uncle of mine had one, he sold it in early 2018.
Binge watched your channel today man. Great content keep it up
That’s awesome man, thanks for the support! Don’t worry, I’ve got plenty planned for the future!
I'm getting a 2914 high country in 2021. They are still impressively good looking good trucks.
I have a 2014 1500 ltz 4x4 5.3 and these are the things I've run into. 98k miles
I've had to replace the battery (2019) and the alternator (2021). I had the trailer brake system alert pop up, had to change the box and switches above the light knob. The sunroof rubber on passenger side fanned out and replaced it. Currently have the park assist pop up, driver side leaf spring squeaking and GM doesn't make a bushing for it so the only solution is pb blaster/ spray liquid grease or buy new leaf springs.
I’ve noticed the lacking heat coming from the seats in my 2017 LTZ. Keep up the great content!
Thanks buddy! Glad i'm not the only one!
I had the drivers side replaced twice and the passenger side once, luckily under extended warranty.
Picking up the same truck tomorrow 2014 high country also running a 3.5 inch lift and 35s, binge watched every video on your 2014! Tons of great info!
How's it been?
I've replaced the line, compressor and condenser since 2015.
Thanks Justin. Just watched both 5 things videos and enjoyed them.
Nice truck! Number 1 thing i hate is the rough country lift lol but all jokes aside good video thanks..
great content man i started watching you before buying my truck you really helped me out. I have same truck as you now which is my dream truck. The pearl 2014 Chevy silverado HIGH COUNTRY
I really like the color of the interior, great video
Thanks buddy! Thats what turned me on to the High Country. Stay tuned, just put out a video tonight and gave you a shout out in the last minute of it!
Dustin T there just a awesome truck, glad you’re putting the info out there!!!
Mine finally got here yesterday… already broke down within the first 12 hours… Not GMs fault. The online dealer sent it out this way. It’s too hot for heated seats but the AC seats work really well!
Ever thought about rhino lining the bumpers
I recently bought a 2014 5.3 4x4 and I’ve noticed a slight jerking feeling as I’m coming to a stop. I’ve read that this is very common online and it’s kinda freaking me out. Have you heard of this issue before?
Does it seem like when it’s downshifting?
Dustin T yes from 2-1 as I’m coming to a stop
Have you tried changing your transmission fluid? I changed mine at 100k and was surprised by how much smoother it shifts now. It was never bad, but it’s like butter after dropping the pan and replacing the fluid and filter. I’ve got a good video on how to do the process, definitely worth checking out and trying if you like to work on your own stuff
I got 2014 and my transmission when back at 120k mile make sure you check ur transmission.
Great content! Let's see a video on how to take care of the leather!
Joshua Suenkel and
Thanks buddy! I've got a video made just for you, gave you a shout out! I'll be posting it here in the next week or two, the "Meguiars Gold Class Leather Conditioner Extreme Test" I've got an old 98 s10 that has had a hard life, the steering wheel is rather used, so I used this product with good results. Stay tuned!
Yep--Had to do my 2015 AC Condenser in 2018.
Man my 2014 got a hose by the front passenger (by the tire) and during summer it’s leaking a lot of water do that shit it’s normal ??
Hey Kyle! You ever had any issues with the battery or anti theft system? My battery seems to drain and get a msg saying "Anti theft deterrent system". Any idea?
I have a '14 Silverado that's garage kept and I don't take out unless it's sunny....I know, that's weird. I also clean under the hood by hand, oh, well...lol. That's the nice thing about having a beater car. I just changed the module that controls the My Link. Truck now has Nav and Apple CarPlay. Everything works great BUT you can't change the background like I used to...no big deal. Haven't had any issues at all with the truck at 50k miles except I feel the FM radio seems to not be as good as it once was.
That’s awesome! If you don’t mind me asking, where did you get the equipment and how much did it cost?
Dustin T search for Intellilink...I think that’s the website. There are cheaper options but I got the NAV and Apple CarPlay for $1300. The other flip side
Is you get Sirius for free but don’t know how long...probably just a trial sub. Your changing the mod behind your glove compartment and the radio mod behind the screen.
I think the heated seat issue is a design flaw.. mine are pretty much exactly as you describe. they take a super long time to get hot, and on the lowest setting I can't even tell if they are working. heated steering wheel gets toasty warm within seconds. I have a 2014 Silverado LTZ, so same leather seating configuration. Additionally my AC condenser also went out at 70Kish miles. Extended warranty covered the $1100 bill, luckily.
Massive paint peeling issues. GM will not take responsibility for an obvious factory defect with the Diamond Tri-Coat not binding to the primer.
I have a 2018 2500 Midnight and the seats r super hot within about minute and a half. Once they get hot the setting automatically drops down so you have to turn it back up if you want. But yeah mine get hot and pretty quick. The seat back takes a little longer.
Nice truck! Wonder if they fixed it on the newer models
Left several comments on your other video's all awesome content as you know have a 17 High Country 6.2L. One thing that annoys me is the entertainment system and how long it takes to come on after the DVD is inserted this has to be pressed and other thing etc...... My 2 year old daughter loves watching movies. Another thing is the key start not a deal breaker but was used to push button start and proximity key from the previous truck. Keep the video's coming
Hey anything to keep the kids entertained haha! I appreciate all the comments buddy, you're always a name I remember when I see a post from you! I know what you mean about the push button start, my wife car has it and the proximity key.... makes me jealous. Stay tuned, more to come!
Dustin you should get a catch can for the engine it's really a must have for the direct Injected.. I have a moroso one its unbelievable what I catches.
I've been checking these out, scary what it catches!
i wanted those red dirt road rims so bad. they are on back order now. i have the same problem with the seat warmers. i have a 2015 silverado LT2. the navigation system sucks too.
Glad i'm not the only one buddy! I didn't know these wheels were on back order, I must have got lucky! I'll do a review on them soon. They are good looking wheels for the price!
Rock chips on color bumper from salt/sand and shitty roads here in Northern Ontario drive me crazy. Keep up the great work.
Amen man, luckily they aren't too noticeable from a distance. I appreciate your support!
My 2014 driver seat I hardly notice it working passenger seat is noticeable, but it still sucks compared to other trucks and cars.
Do you have the chevy shake at 70mph ?
My voice command works great.
There is only one I see it’s a Chevy not a ford
Hey man ill buy u a new truck do u want a dually?
What kind?
Dustin T f350 drw?
98 and older chevys are beast!
No joke! I still see a ton of them on the road
I have a 14 ltz. I have the same issue with voice command. Keep up the good work.
Thanks buddy! Yeah it never wants to listen to me. Glad its not just me!
