To me these moments are the most important when it comes to Dimash. He has such an amazing talent that it is easy for people to glorify him and put him on a pedestal and when we do that we stop treating him like a real person with feelings and needs. The double-take when he sees his dad always makes my heart skip a beat and when he says he wants to go home I always die a little inside. He works SO hard and holds himself to such a high standard because he wants to share his music and wants to make his family, his country, and his Dears proud of him. He sings when he is sick because he doesn't want to disappoint us. He does meet-and-greets and interviews with us when he's exhausted because he loves us. I love that he has as much love for us as we do for him but I hope more people see clips like this and remember that our loyalty should be a two-way street.

There are many moments like this with his parents and grandparents as he was raised very close to them, and he can't stand living far from them for very long. His family is very dear to him, and they all share love and respect for each other. He is now living in LA, but a few days ago he flew back home for his grandma's birthday.
Even though the video was covered, I could picture every part because I've seen it many times. I love that big hug he gives his dad! Right in front of everyone he wasn't embarrassed at all and they all loved him more seeing how much he loved his dad. Apparently he had been homesick and getting a bit depressed and his dad flew in from Kazakhstan just at the right time to cheer him up! So sweet!
Dimash is not only the best vocalist and singer, he is also a very good actor and performer, but most of all Dimash is likeable and down to earth and tries to send messages to the world...👍

Lol. It was mostly blocked, but I've watched that clip so many times. I know what is being said without seeing the subtitles. I don't know if you noticed, but dad was still in China for the Show Must Go On Episode. Also know, Dimash was only 22 at the time, and probably the first time, he's been away from his family for that long. 2-3 weeks at that point. In a country, he doesn't speak the language.

Dimash has said he could never do anything to embarrass or disappoint his parents. Why not watch Dimash singing with his mum and dad. It’s called moonlight momma, I believe. His grandparents are in the audience. They brought him up for the first ten years as is the Kazakh way, though I think they all lived in the same house as they still do.
Also--as for wanting to go home, you've got to understand this was the second official week of the competition, and here was Dimash--thousands of miles away from his beloved family as well as country, not knowing the language, and really having only ONE person there with whom he could talk--the guy who introduces him each time. (He quickly won EVERYONE'S hearts over, though, becoming very close friends with another competitor Terry Lin (whom he later refers to as his 2nd Papa--it's beyond adorable), and Jam Hsiao of the rock band LION, actually guesting at some of their (future) concerts together.❤🥰❤)

Only after 6 years did he find out that they were not his parents. That's why his grandmother sent him to music school and he often calls them mom and dad.
