Kudos to the production team for this amazing film. All us nets fans believe in you Cam. You will be our franchise player to lead and win us a title in the next few years. Go nets
I’m 16 years old far few years younger than cam and I would be at the south Norfolk rec center playing 5s with the older guys . I can honestly say Cam deserved this he was at the rec balling every single day I went there
Huge fan of Cam Thomas. He is our diamond in the rough. A lot of Nets fans here on UA-cam shoots him down and only look at the things he is not doing on the court. I don't think he is fools gold at all. He reminds me of this quote in Rambo 3 movie. I hope Sean sees this.. I believe in Cam's heart. When you've been a Nets fan for 30 years, you know a diamond in the rough when you see one. The quote goes .. "“Let me tell you a story, John. There was a sculptor. He found this stone, a special stone. He dragged it home and he worked on it for months until he finally finished it. When he was ready he showed it to his friends. They said he had created a great masterpiece, but the sculptor said he hadn't created anything. The statue was always there, he just chipped away the rough edges. You're always going to be tearing away at yourself until you come to terms with who you are. Until you come full circle.”"
Seeing Cam's backstory, it all makes sense. Not only the player Cam is, but the man he is too, it all makes sense. Ever since he was young his whole clan always spoke life into him, believed in him, and had his back. Most importantly his mom and the male figures in his life. That can literally be the difference between a kid becoming just another dude you see on the corner everyday, or him becoming a "Cam Thomas". I know not everyone may believe in "destiny" or being born to do something, but when you watch Cam play and now hearing his story, you can just tell he was born to do this. From his natural ability to score and create from a super young age, to more importantly his work ethic from a young age as well. That's why his coaches and trainers bought in super early because they knew Cam was one of those ones. It's crazy because I'm from the DMV (DC, the counties in Maryland that border DC, and Northern Virginia) so Chesapeake/Norfolk is about 3-3.5 hours or so away. Cam is a year younger than me too, so I can relate to his story so much (I'm obviously not in the NBA 😂) but in terms of his upbringing. The DMV and the Hampton Roads are very similar in a lot of ways. Coach Boo was not lying when he said there's something in the water in our area. There are ton of talented kids that grow up hooping, only a few end up being a KD or a Cam Thomas, or even a Victor Oladipo or Mike Beasley. It's great to have Cam sort of be a representative for my generation of hoopers, especially coming from a couple hours down the road. Forever a Cam Thomas fan, salute to him and his clan, and great job to the Brooklyn Nets for a great short film, extremely well done.
Cam talking about how he had a coach believe in him at a young age and so he wanted to win for him really sheds some light on his up-and-down early career, something his mom brought up that they had to build him up even in games he didn't play in. The Jordi Fernandez hire comes at a good time for Cam's career because he's believed in Cam and allowed him to be him and not constantly bring him down by focusing on the things he didn't do well instead of what he does well. Probably straight out of Jordi's sports psychology thesis paper lol
I remember being at the Rec center watching cam ball . I’m younger than him and the other guys but I can honestly say cam loved basketball and deserved this he was always giving it %110 making the gym lit
I love Cam Thomas, enjoy each his game, its incredible, when i am Nets fan and my team selects this kid, who is true scorer, hard worker and so mentally wise, eventhow he is so young. I am Nets fan, and hope Cam is Net for life, but if one day Cam leaves, part of me will follow him, follow his new team, i love this kid from the very first moment i watched his game. Thank you for great video Brooklyn Team 🖤🖤🖤
I’m 17 and from Chesapeake and use to be with Cam and other guys at the Rec Center . I can honestly say he deserved this , every time I went to the rec he was there .
