Stay safe Lynette & Family. Tis the season for gators. 🐊 ❤🐊. Always glance under parked vehicles, and do a quick perimeter check before letting the kids out. They are shockingly fast when they are motivated. They will knock you off your feet with a swipe of the tail and then they chomp down on whatever they can. I have seen then do a 180 degree turn & jump in a fraction of a second. Never underestimate them. They are known for climbing fences to get at pets and children. Learn their sounds and make sure the kids are familiar with them. They are masters of camouflage and can lay in and behind vegetation undetected.
Florida wildlife keeps you on your toes. I live just south of you in Punta Gorda, Florida. This time of year it’s gators and bob cats in our backyards. Then add in a few cranes, armadillos, and even bunnies. When we lived in central Florida near a national forest, in the fall we would see bears wandering downtown looking for food. They would roam the alleyways looking for dumpsters at the rear of restaurants. Most of the time if you see gators in neighborhoods they are either moving from one pond to another during mating season, or someone is feeding them so they keep coming back looking for an easy meal.

Be careful leaving your garage doors open...large snakes, lizards and gators can crawl in there and surprise you. I would leave the door down but I know having kids it might be difficult. Time to have a talk with the kids.
How fun that you were able to spend time with Megan and Josh. I love following Megan's UA-cam and Instagram page. They are great people. How scary for the alligator to show up!! In 2016 sadly a little 2 yr old boy from my home state of Nebraska was vacationing with his family in FL and they were on a beach and an alligator got ahold of the little boy and drowned him. They attend the same church we attend whenever we travel to Omaha to see our kids. Such a tragic incident. I hope and pray you don't see any more of those alligators in your front yard!! I bet you keep a watchful eye on the children!!! The tool you use for cleaning the windows looks like a great idea. Thank you for sharing your recipes. I always enjoy your recipe ideas. ✍Hello Lynette and Family...So good to see you tonight. I like how clean you keep your home. With my age (78 almost 79) and health issues I'm not able as I used to be at keeping the outside of my home as spotless as I used too but still give it a go and soon it will be nicer weather here in Ohio and I can get started on Spring cleaning outside. I have started on the inside and spent the whole day on 2-3 rooms already and it makes my home even feel lighter. I hope the flu bug doesn't invade your home since Cayden got sick. When I was in the 6th grade we were studying Florida and after hearing about the Alagators and huge water Cockroaches I've never wanted to vacation there. A family member moved to Florida a couple of years ago and has told me about different "creepy crawling" things getting into their home I said...its not for me ha ha ha !! I've heard that hissing sound before and was absolutely surprised it came from a swan. My youngest daughter used to own a home here in Postage Lakes and the swans would come by their boat dock and she'd feed them and wow was I surprised at that hissing sound. You don't expect that from a bird. That's funny cause I'm making Chicken Alfredo this week but, I just make it the easy way...ha ha ha !! just boil my chicken breasts, pasta,and steam the broccoli and use a jarred 4cheese Alfredo sauce. Welcome to Florida with alligators. We lived in Gainesville and my husbands office had several come into their parking lot and go into the water that was near the parking lot. I am also a winter color. Bright colors are your friend. ❤
Watching u cleaning outside brought back how memories of spring and fall and me doing outside of house front and back wi th the garden hose. My heart was in my thoart with the alligator cause Harper had been there playing just short while before. Iam sure u will be checking before children go out after that. It doesn’t phase the alligator he isn’t bothered by people like other wild animals are. Thankful u guys were ok.
Ok Lynette, I was born & raised in Florida. Alligators can run as fast as a man on land. Plus, during mating season they are very unpredictable. You are lucky when hubby used the blower it didn’t come at him. It was very startling even to me when the dern thing went right where the doll toy was. Plus, they can break through pool screens. So always look in the pool before getting in. Generally they aren’t this out & about, but during mating season they are literally on the prowl. Great video and loved seeing Megan and Josh sharing some time with you. That's so awesome. The gator is a bit of excitement. Two of my siblings live around your area and have seen gators in their yards or across the golf course where there is a pond. Thank goodness they both have pools enclosed with their screen in room area for a bit of safety. Great video with a variety of things, reminds me of my spring cleaning and the windows need washed and screens as well. Now if Washington ever quits raining I may get that done. 🙂

You have the gators. We have black bears and cougars. All are very scary, especially with small pets and children near. Oaklynn is a good girl helping mom. It was nice to see Megan and her hubby. The food at the steak house looked yummy. Wow, Harper is growing fast. ❤

Rule of thumb for those coming to our Sunshine State of Fla……where there’s water there’s a potential gator 🐊 When the gator started hissing as Nic pointed the leaf blower towards him it means it was mad - Nic is very fortunate the gator didn’t charge him. Next time leave them alone & they eventually go away. Thankfully everyone is safe!!

I thought we had it all here in Australia (deadly snakes and spiders etc) but that ‘gator gave me the creeps….ugly horrid thing! That would freak me out big time. It's good you have your pool fence in. I'm from Polk County n we use to check the pool before jumping in for gators n moccasins. Very hot days they lay at the bottom to cool off. They can also run.

One day we were driving home from my in-laws house and in the middle of the road we saw this huge black dog. We were rather far away and boy my husband and I were thinking that's too big to be a dog, cause of how far we were from it. At the same time we realized that it was a bear. On another occasion, my husband came inside after work (second shift) and he was rather spooked. He told me he had just heard the scariest sound he had ever heard. (We were in the middle of a wooded area outside of town, and the town was small.) Several weeks later I was going through these animal sounds on an encyclopedia computer program and my husband said "Wait, go back. What was that?!" I told him it was a cougar. He then said "That's what I heard!" Sometimes these animal interactions can be harrowing. I hope you are okay and just remember to take the proper precautions and you will be fine. 😊 Thank you for sharing!

This is too funny! Raised my family in Florida, and truly you haven't lived until you've had a skank in the house, snakes in the screened porch, and a gator or two in the yard. LOL. Two months after moving to Florida, I had to catch a runaway skank in the family room. Good times. 🫣😂
I read that gators are afraid if humans so as long as you don’t approach one you should be fine. They said if you run into one just back away very slowly

Lol...love the gator! I'm from Louisiana and see them pretty often. Don't be scared. You leave them alone, they will leave you alone. Don't agitate them bc then they will defend themselves. They will leave on there on. Guess being from the south I'm just used to them.
I’m usually fine from a distance 🤓. What I’m not ok with is the fact that I have a toddler who wouldn’t yet understand to stay away. And he could have come around when she or Oaklynn were playing outside 🫣. But I’m pretty vigilant right now due to this.
I, too, live in Florida. We have a pool in the backyard and a privacy fence. I still freak out at times, thinking I'm going to be in the pool and gator will slide in. 😮

Oh girl, as much as I want to live in Florida that gator 🐊 is pretty scary 🫣
One day we were driving home from my in-laws house and in the middle of the road we saw this huge black dog. We were rather far away and boy my husband and I were thinking that's too big to be a dog, cause of how far we were from it. At the same time we realized that it was a bear.
On another occasion, my husband came inside after work (second shift) and he was rather spooked. He told me he had just heard the scariest sound he had ever heard. (We were in the middle of a wooded area outside of town, and the town was small.) Several weeks later I was going through these animal sounds on an encyclopedia computer program and my husband said "Wait, go back. What was that?!" I told him it was a cougar. He then said "That's what I heard!" Sometimes these animal interactions can be harrowing. I hope you are okay and just remember to take the proper precautions and you will be fine. 😊

Oh my word! That would scare me to have a gator up by the house. I had to wonder what the gator would have done to the highchair had Nick not scared him away.
This is too funny! Raised my family in Florida, and truly you haven't lived until you've had a skank in the house, snakes in the screened porch, and a gator or two in the yard. LOL. Two months after moving to Florida, I had to catch a runaway skank in the family room. Good times. 🫣😂
I did the protein balls but I replaced the chips with raisins and used no added sugar pb for my patient who is diabetic. She loves them.
I read that gators are afraid if humans so as long as you don’t approach one you should be fine. They said if you run into one just back away very slowly
Lynette, THAT WAS TERRIFYING! Please be vigilant about looking around when you and the kids are out playing! Even when you're leaving (under your car as you're loading kids)! Oh my goodness! I'm so worried now! 😢

They can go fast as 40 miles an hour and go through glass screens and wrought iron fences .
Lol...love the gator! I'm from Louisiana and see them pretty often. Don't be scared. You leave them alone, they will leave you alone. Don't agitate them bc then they will defend themselves. They will leave on there on. Guess being from the south I'm just used to them.
I’m usually fine from a distance 🤓. What I’m not ok with is the fact that I have a toddler who wouldn’t yet understand to stay away. And he could have come around when she or Oaklynn were playing outside 🫣. But I’m pretty vigilant right now due to this.

I used to get off work at Sarasota Memorial and go have breakfast with my nursing buddy after rough shifts. =)
I, too, live in Florida. We have a pool in the backyard and a privacy fence. I still freak out at times, thinking I'm going to be in the pool and gator will slide in. 😮

I’d be freaked out too! The f nothing else it was great yt content😅! Up in New England we have occasional bears and moose which is also scary.
We have a Connors steakhouse in Fort Myers that is also one of our favorites. Hard to get into during season so looking forward to going soon.
