And it's so true! My friend and I have had many conversations that if I'd have gone first he would be a basket case, not know where to turn or his next steps. Things aren't easier because your alone and only need to take care of one - yourself. If anything it's harder & seem to have less time to take care of yourself and the tasks that need to be done and taken care of.

People just don't know how important family is. Bitterness and unforgiveness is not worth it. In our most loneliest time we want to be with our family but unfortunately for some the emotions can be a huge factor mostly why families are broken. We must break the wall of pride and choose family. God heal families with love.

What a beautiful tribute. I lost my husband of 33 years on May 28th 2020. We were the same about partnership, always together but always respectful. He was my heart, my strength and truely made me better.
My husband was in ICU for nine days, had lost his voice after 2nd day & basically unresponsive but still breathing, with help with same machine as Covid patients because it was just the beginning of the pandemic but that's not why he passed.
He had two different types of cancer & sucked the life out of him. I miss him desperately and it's almost 3.5 years later. I feel compelled to carry on but don't have the same amount of support that you are lucky enough to have.
With much respect and love to and for Suzanne and Alan, as a fellow Canadian who remembers you from Razzle Dazzle - I forgot the turtles name, but loved seeing you even then.

@@anniematthew2608 Thank you for your wishes. It's 3.5 years and I still find it difficult. It's not the feeling of I expect him to walk through the door because - I don't.
It's the absence of someone to confide in or ask their opinion. It's not being able to do things like, "You'll never beleive what happened in the office today....". It's stupid I know but thoes 'experiences' are so much of what we do, learn about one another & 'experience' together. If I'd said that to anyone else they would shrug their shoulders...Our experiences, learning and tolerances make up such a big piece of our day-to-day.
Funny thing that I noticed in first couple of months again comes down to a sharing experience. Things or updates I wish I could share with him or how much something (a construction site that one or both of us had worked on - but the different trades so not working together) a job site or the way a building looks like now. Such a weird situation to find yourself in. Maybe I hold onto my memories too close where other ppl would not even have feelings one way or the other. We'd been thru A LOT in 33 years, it's a long time & maybe only ever had a disagreement, no fights - about one every 5 or 6 years...but yes, still had drama but usually at someone else's action or involvement. And 'yes' you can go to bed mad at the other person...by morning it's pretty much blown over & forgotten...

@@seethergenpan8651 Indeed it's tough to do this alone. Not that I'm hopeless or helpless but I always had someone to 'share the load' & don't mean to drop my stuff on him just made things so much easier when a problem arises and you need help. Even with my team at work I always thank my support people & even if it means a text at end of the day saying 'thanks for making a crummy day end up awesome with your help'. I beleive in construction that workers don't get enough thanks for adding your hands to fix a problem. If managers won't do it I will because I notice the difference. I miss having help at home & that's why women widows usually have things in their house that aren't the r don't work properly anymore. My helper is gone, my supporter/cheerleader & emotional help isn't here.
We always thanked each other & everynight made sure the other was comfortable; 'got enough blanket' or 'hey, can I have some blanket...' but we always said 'I love you' before going to sleep.
Being a widow is a tough job and really takes some getting used to - if you ever do.
Hold onto lovers close and best friends closely too.....they're the ones that pick up the slack, allow you to phone when you're down and keep you on the path. They help and you don't even know how important that connection is - not because they replace but they DO help fill your most important void & assist getting you to put one foot infront of the other when all you really want to do is kick your slippers off and hop back into bed. Your friends are important, be there for them as they help fill your void - they are the people who know you the best and are a blessing. Value thoes close to you 💓

Loved Suzanne, and how she stuck up for herself by requesting equal pay on Three’s Company. I consider her a pioneer for following female stars of successful sitcoms. The industry gave her a hard time, and the media portrayed her as selfish and greedy. However, she showed them all! I loved her books on women’s health, and her cookbooks. Her recipes were delicious, her family stories and the illustrations wonderful. She was ahead of her time with her way of eating foods to stabilize blood sugars. And to aid digestion. Also, her family seems lovely, and her marriage, one to admire. God bless.

I love their love. So special. So unique. So deep.
Suzanne got tired of fighting and decided she was done, and probably asked God to take her. That exactly what my mom did at the end. Stopped eating, stopped talking. Daddy held on for She was ready. RIP to an amazing beautiful soul, Suzanne Somers.

Sorry for your loss. I do not think it matters the length of time you are in a relationship. I sense that you had a beautiful relationship you had with your husband; not many people experience the love you had, as Suzanne has[i say has, not had, as this kind of love never dies} with Alan. No wonder she always had a beautiful smile on her face. The smile shows how she truly appreciate the life God gave her till the very end. I get it when the son said he can feel her. I feel the same for my grandma and dad. It’s easier to get through in the most difficult time of losing someone so special. He will be ok cause he can feel her energy and love around him. I think it is absolutely amazing and beautiful. My parents shared the same kind of love. My father was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s at 53. He died at 62. We all took care of him. He adored our mother and she adored him. I remember one day him sitting at the table, staring at her working in the kitchen. He said I’m trying to find a word to describe how much I love your mom and there’s nothing on this earth. I can compare to the love I feel for her. I wish that everyone on this earth experience this kind of love. It is my most precious memory and blessing of my life. Suzanne Somers will always be a part of my life. Thanks for all the beautiful memories.
