I've relied solely on Windows Defender and common sense for protection, and I haven't encountered any viruses in years. In fact, I've never purchased any antivirus software.
If you deal with crypto and things of that nature you need antivirus
since last 15 years i have been using AV's premium versions using pirate licenses 😀

Where do I get the malware files you used to test?
Mostly people nowadays are technologically savvy enough that a dedicated AVP is just a waste of money.
Windows Defender, Free CCleaner and Malwarebytes are all I've needed for almost half a decade now.

I am currently using Bitdefender Total Security and I am very pleased with it and it perfectly protects my laptop as well as my mobile phone

My 5-year experience with Norton (I'm no expert) in this but it's virtually impossible to turn off notifications. I haad to go to tech support and Nortan could not even turn these pests off.
I have the same issue with Norton . Even when you turn the notification off and select dont show again .They still return . I'm considering moving on to another anti virus.
@@electriclute Kaspersky. I had ESET for a long time, but I still got hacked. Kaspersky is great because it was able to close the holes immediately and remove the junk.
