Just fantastic, Jeremy! I didn't think there could be a steeper, more crooked mainline than P&W's Toledo Branch, but here we are! And shoot, I didn't even realize the Siskiyou line had re-opened after the fire damage to one of the tunnels years ago, so this is a real treat. Thanks so much for all the time you sacrifice to make these videos, Jeremy. I'm looking forward to the next installment!
I have been up and down that stretch of I-5 many times and have seen the tracks, but never any trains. This is a great video to show what the line typically carries and get a good sense of the terrain it goes through. Thanks for the many hours and trips it took to capture the video and share it with us.
You’re welcome! I enjoy getting out to find the trains…because like you; in so many years, I’d never seen one here either! It’s definitely a labor of love:)
What a master of the art of train videos. I’ve watched about 10 in the last 3 days. Keep the highways out of the shot. One minute I see mountains and endless fields of color, then we turn 180* and an interstate highway appears. It crushes the ambiance. It’s like heavy metal music at an out door wedding. 🙀 What I was searching for in my astonishment at the low hits was talking to your compatriot railbirds doesn’t do anything for numbers. They’ll be there hell or high water. You’ve got to draw from a larger group. East of the Mississippi is game. Selling on the meditative properties will work, with less dialogue, louder engine rumble, and soothing clickety-clack. I’ve found more music on the other your vid’s. You should have 100,000 just from the East coast. I am die hard railfan since birth. My grandfathers stole an entire train in 1862. Almost got away with it. You could re-audio some of the video’s for trial. A beautiful girl with perfect diction would be interesting. With promotion it would attract 10,000’s+ If you’re set, don’t care about #’s, just keep on, keeping on. Your work is exquisite, art, breathtaking. Thank you. You are an artist! 🌈🍀🌝🌞✅
Nice work catching this stretch of railroad. Great to watch it's operations as well. Beautiful scenery excellent video Jeremy! Kind Regards from SoCal; - Larry
Really enjoy your videos, in fact I have played them while working on my model railroad, love how you capture the sounds without music. Your commentary is very good. Keep up the great work.
the first train was mostly empties go back to the mills to get new loads of lumber and plywood. another well done video with beautiful countryside and an interesting history Thanks
Hmmmmm mountain lion at tunnels 13 and 14!!, spent the day their couple years ago with my son on his birthday, had a great time hiking and exploring between trains. Chased a few trains from Weed to Medford.
I believe the tank car is their water car. A nozzle on the side will spray water to help with fire control along the RoW. I’ve seen other videos with it in-use
This is such a beautiful railroad. The scenery is so very dry these days, though. I realize it's winter/spring and that the deciduous trees lack leaves, but there are a lot of dead ones in this vid, too.
The leaves would have blocked the view at my favorite spot where the tracks are close to each other above and below. Also I forgot to mention, during the summer and fall months the train runs at night.
@@pacificrailproductions5281 That would be incredible! I love showing new hires the route because there is a lot of locations that are very out of the reach from the public that are beautiful for cameras and history
The route since the final decades of SP control has been secondary and even mothballed at times. The traffic hasn’t risen up. So you’re right. With more traffic would come those upgrades.
@@pacificrailproductions5281Every year I come home to visit my family in the Newburg / McMinnville area. Do you get in that area to do any filming? Myself, I find it hard to catch something. I am hoping this Thanksgiving I see something to post on my social pages. Yes, very big railroad fan I am. 😁😁😁😁😁😁😁
Yes he did. That podunk dude screwed the pooch on that one. But I didn’t realize it till too late. 1869 I believe everybody knows is the right year. You know I’m the narrator writer filmer and screener, right? Lol!

Thank you CJ! I appreciate that
Another great PRP video! Those loops would make an amazing model railroad scene. I had no idea they existed. Thanks for sharing!
I agree! It’s cut out for it! I appreciate the feedback too.

Great video....loved it. Great to see small town economies at work.
This line has so much history. It's locomotives, and the line itself. I loved this video, keep up the amazing work!
Thank you very much!
@@TealGuy it really does
@railfandan told us about your channel! Loving it so far! We used to live in Medford so it's like coming home!

Yeah, likely not in the mood for us, but smaller game; but still…I’m glad you watched! What are you building; and what scale? (If I may ask)
I lived and worked in Grants Pass for 16 years until 1994.

Thank you Marcelo! 🙏🏻 Great to see Argentina here!
Hwy 99 follow the tracks for so many miles. Part of I-5 is old Hwy 99.

Absolutely gorgeous.
I wish I could drive my homemade rail cart on those tracks.
Maybe someday! Just have good brakes!

Grand and rugged and beautiful! This does NOT get old! Thank you Jeremy.
Thanks Paul! May it live on!
Amazing video Jeremy I absolutely loved it, I didn't even know you were down here lol.
Glad you enjoyed!

Maybe that can happen; I’d enjoy a trip there to get a few spots more.

@@zsoren42 well, I’ll stay in touch with you in order to let you know when I can make the trip. It would be cool to meet you
Someone told me years ago this line over the siskiyous was dead, glad it is not!
Right now I am in HO. Free lance, Southern Pacific fan.
I noticed that there is still alot of un-welded rail. Is this due to the revenue not fully there?

where did the bulkhead flats pick up the lumber loads?
They are headed to a mill in Weed. Roseburg Forest products.
At hte beginnig did the narrator really say the transcontental railroad was completed in 1865?
