Finally a MOPAR! I have owned over 80 cars...all different makes. Been a mechanic since the 60's. Have worked on them all, but have 9 MOPARS now and one Chevy (needed something to keep me busy). Have watched you for years...keep up the good vids! Go Duff dog!
My brother from another Mother. Yep, still stuck on Mopars, hard to shake what you grew up with. We lived in the golden days. 10 year old chargers for $200, and a quick trip to the junk yard for a C body big block and trans. I miss those days.
My parents had a '68 New Yorker with the 440. That car had ashtrays and cigarette lighters everywhere. What a beast. The car once lost all electrical power. Reaching up behind the dash my dad accidently shorted the ammeter terminals together with his wedding ring and heard the mechanical clock wind. That's how he found the problem. A bad ammeter will kill the whole car. I watched this with interest, brought back memories.
Seeing this car brings back so many forgotten childhood memories Mr. Mortski. My dad had both a 1968 Newport and a 1968 Imperial Crown in our drive way. Of course the imperial was my mom's though. They Both had my name etched in them. In different places. As an 8 yr old boy back then, I got away with a lot. My dad got so mad at me for scratching his paint. But my mom held me in her arms, told me she loved me, and even gave me a cookie for doing it to her car. She said she will always cherish her sons autograph. Lol. Now fast forward 50 years and wish they were still here for me to call up and ask them if Daddy is still mad at me and momma can I have another cookie.......... 🥺
My Uncle had 68 Newport and my Brother currently has one, 1966. I always loved the 383, great engine. Another awesome video. Mort nice surprise for a Friday night. Have great weekend.
This looks a lot like my 68 Fury III. Exact same color, 4 doors. Originally a 383 car, but the 2nd owner built a 440 for it, .484" cam, 9.5 to 1 forged, big Holley, Hooker headers, Flowmasters. He also added a 3000 stall converter and 4.10s! It was a monster! I lived next door for 4 years. He blew the trans, parked it, and eventually gave it to me.
Many moons ago when I was around 14 my buddy and I swiped a pack of Newports from his Dad’s carton went out in the woods to smoke one , and yes got sick as hell. Many years later I don’t think I ever felt that level of unpleasant sickness again 😆
Wow, one cigarette made u sick?? Wow, interesting. I tried smoking a few times over the yrs, only thing it did to me was make me feel high...Marlboro reds...lol! Only time I felt green was when my friend n I smoked a cigar and probably inhaled which u don't really do with cigars. Either way the dumb things we do when we were young right!
I had a Plymouth Scamp with a locked up 318. It went to rest in the pasture for 10 years until I decided to put a battery in it. It fired up reluctantly so I raced it around the back 40 to finish it off. Good times.
Man, that sucks. I'm not a Mopar guy, but that's a shame the ol 383 HP didn't make it. Damn mice! I hate those bastards. Nice try, Mortske. Can't win 'em all, man. Take care, and stay cool!
The fact that it was on More Mortske I knew it wasn’t going to end well but still glad to have a second video. At least you got to see some pleasurizers
Sometimes even if you don’t get it running it’s a car that someone watching had one or knew someone who had one that’s why I liked this particular one my dad had one very similar 67 Newport .thanks John from Arizona p.s. it’s nostalgia.
I am really happy to finally see a Mopar. It has been a while. One of the finest cars. If you run into problems you could try asking Mark Worman, he is the award winning world expert on Mopars. He is also an awesome dancer, he could teach you some radical moves that you could incorperate in your videos. I am sure your viewers will be crazy about it.
Mortske my man, glad to see you attempt another Mopar. Very sorry it didn't work out but what the heck, can't all be winners. I have a 66 Chrysler Newport 2dr HT with 78K original miles. My wife bought it for me for my 60th birthday. I don't get to drive it as much as I'd like. It hasn't had any updates (master cylinder/front discs etc.) so I don't like to drive in metro Denver traffic. I sure do enjoy your channel and videos. I think my dog Julie and Duff got a thing going but I don't check her mail. I'm having a sammich right now, a ZiegenBock out of Texas, (couldn't tell could you?) Sure do love your 64 Chev wagon too. Keep it up brother. Salud!
You haven't changed a water pump until you change one on an old Chrysler big block on a luxo-barge model. Frickin' things are huge. I changed one on a Sunday night all by myself when I was 19. The only other place in town that was open happened to have the exact one I needed in stock. How lucky! Spent most of the night into the wee hours, got it installed, put new belts and a hose on it - dumped anti-freeze in it aaaaaand the damn monster had a crack in the housing. I said a few bad words.
I think that one is the model that they just took a truck frame and sat the body on it? Don't quote me on that one - but the ones that they did that with were banned for demo derbies - unfair advantage.
Wow. A "numbers matching" 1968 Newport. Amazing. That was my first car in Newport Custom trim. Awesome ride. That 383HP and the 2:76 gear ratio will surely bury that speedometer. Enjoy.
I had a stop me red 1966 4 door Newport. I loved that thing. Frist thing that 2 barrel has to go. New intake and 4 barrel. The car will float on the road at 100. Great aerodynamic front end. I had my radio in glivebox. Because even at 16 I refused to cut the dash and take out the wondebar am radio. 4 15s in the truck. And still have room for shovels and dead bodys... and leaded gas... and or additive.
I had a 68 Chrysler Newport, except mine was a 2-door. It was originally a burgundy color. My dad gave it to me in the mid-80's and I painted it black and ran it to work for about 6 years. It had the 383 and actually got about 20 miles to a gallon. Eventually I gave it to a friend of mine. Wish I still had it. That green color of yours was a very common color that year. I believe they only made that exact body style for the '68 year only.
Had to watch this on a Tuesday morning as I had the base pillared sedan in blue. It was the base 383, 2 Barrel carb. It did not have factory air, but did have a non working AirTemp under dash unit however. It was my first car in HS in the early 80's. Lots of great memories of it. Still dream of it every so often over the past 40+ years. Scrapped it in the summer of '83. The body was much better than yours however as the back was all straight and nice. No, it was all weathered and the front end sagged some, the muffler was almost a total delete, however some bailing wire and tin coffee cans kind sorta helped the poor muffler along. It did smoke a little, but ran. Belong to an elderly maternal grandmother of good friends when she decided to stop driving at the time. This was a nice look at what was a nice car at one time, but sadly, too far gone, thanks to the mouse houses inside the motor.
I drove a 71' 2door Newport when my 71 Charger was down. Bought it for the donor 325hp 383, 727, and 8 3/4 but ended up loving that 19.5' long land yacht. It would lay a number 11 a mile long!
I bought a 1968 Plymouth Fury lll with a slant six in it. It was a 2-door hardtop. Same color as yours but it had a (factory painted) black hardtop. Very cool old car. Not a dent or rust spot on it also.
I've been WAITING for one of you lovely UA-camr car dudes (Actually I LOVE Mortske BEST!!!) to finally grab one of these awesome 1960's Chrysler's that ISN'T a Muscle car! I Love these styled Chromed beauties!!! Now I guess I'm just SOL. Period.
I remember when I was a kid, we’re talking 1971-72-ish, my dad came home one day in a Plymouth Sports Fury. It had them driver-facing blinker indicators at the front of each fender and at that time I thought that was the coolest thing in the world😆.
Too bad it didn't run. I used to have a 68 Chrysler Newport with same 383. I lowered it and put low profile tires and drove pics out of it. One day master cylinder went bad and ran into back of va. Spare tire on back of van went through door and barely a scuff on Newport! Drove it till motor gave out. She was big and purple. Loved it.
Too bad it was so bad. It would have been a cool cruiser. I love you and the Mopar Madman together. Hope to see you guys do more together. Keep the great content coming!
Thank you to Mortske and The Mad Man it's ok like you said you can't win them All, Good Video you Guys Cracking on each other Hilarious 😂😂😂😂😂 I used to have a friend like that we could say anything, Sadly He's Gone 😔 Till Next Time My Friend 👍
Big picture, I would call this a win. Yeah, the car not so much, but the video itself was a win. MM was a fit for at least occasional tag team. I get that he has a job, but he lifted the product. Good personality, lifts the low spots, and brings some knowledge. Think about it. MM is an asset.
I had a gold 68 Newport 2 door with the 383. I paid $50 for it, put a muffler on it, and drove it thousands of miles. That was a great driving car, wish I still had it. Fender lights and skirts were standard equipment
My wife and I were discussing the damage pattern in that bumper right when you said "gam-gam must have been loaded after bingo night..." and I spit my coffee.
I think it was pre-67 that those big C-body Chryslers were just a body sitting on a pick-up truck frame and those were banned for demo derbies. My memory ain't what it used to be. You'd always see those, Vista-cruisers and Caddies winning the derby. Most ended up getting banned. But that's one reason why you don't hardly see very many Vista Cruisers -- used up in derbies.
That was too bad , It started out looking bad and then got a lot worse to the point where you throw in the towel and whatever you have handy , button it up and park it where the weeds grow longest . It was a learning experience for us all , and maybe a small loss for FiFel who was dead and quite stiff . Till the next Mortske Saturday or Monday , take care , beware , God Bless you and Duff Dog the trusty garage helper , Stuart in Canada .. PS your MoPar helper was a real hoot .
Looking at the core support from the engine bay side,, that thing is a work of art. They went to a lot of effort mounting the radiator so it was basically a sealed unit.
It’s never a fun time when you have stalagmites and stalactites in your engine 😂 sir mortikis supplies us with another valve breaking, rust filled and absolutely entertaining video!
Good afternoon from Cape Cod ⚓ I believe the Mopar mad man told you you're wasting your time with the lube 😞 the mice certainly had their fun with that engine, what a mess. I know it didn't get to run but it was fun watching you guys working on it. I learned a long time ago to stay away from mopars, even though I'm driving a 97 Dodge pick up, with my eyes averted and my head hung low 😂 keep up the great work ✌️🇺🇲
Gotta say it's more fun when you have a third wheel. Especially one that can throw some back at you - ahhh if Duff could talk. Being a mopar guy I enjoyed this one a bit more. Oh and if you ever want to hire a full time camera man to get on your gravy train you got going...
This show is lame! If you're a Mopar hater, why bother to get one started? I see why there are only 37K subscribers!
Aww you need a hug don't you?
Creative name sparkie.
He hates on all makes and says so. This time it just happens to be a Mopar.
its not the main channel
The Tapping on the valve and that's gonna be the end the day here at Mortske garage....Never gets old!!!!! Legendary Moment!!!

Friday night with Mortske. So glad to see some second channel content!
Wild times
Ammeters are one STUPID thing vintage MOPARS had. TERRIBLE IDEA!!!
Whole family can rip darts
wow thats nuts!
Glad you didn't abandon this channel....even if you are working on a Newport!👍

I rented a Fury ll or lll like that.....at 70 or 80 mph if ya hit the gas it would raise the front end and fly like you wouldn't believe!!!
The Mopar Man warned you about wasting Kroil on this one. Great entertainment altogether.
why is that shit so expensive?
This is what I’ve been patiently waiting for, im sure there’s been “where tf has your second videos been?!?!?”
Thank you sir
More to come!

It’s good to see the Mopar Mad Person again!
Dam, Mortske on a Friday Night, Life is Good !

I think Sir Morticus did, as well!
How dare you!

An extra hour of shenanigans is just what I needed to get me through this week! Thank you sir!
I like these failure videos. Glad to see the second channel coming back to life.
Abbott and Costello go wrenchin'

Thanks for sharing, of course.
Thanks for watching!

👍 Though it kind of feels weird watchin on Friday night....👍
Much better than watching Puddin.....
I've never seen nor heard of a Chrysler Newport, even though I am from the UK I'm a big fan of US cars and this one looks amazing.
Those rigs for big cars handle pretty well and have a nice ride.
Yes they do
Plenty of room in that baby, My dad had one. Newport was bottom trim line. Bless 🇺🇸
Right on
Dang mice!!! 😢
But now you know exactly what this car is about.
Thanks for the video.
Our pleasure
Too bad it was so bad. It would have been a cool cruiser. I love you and the Mopar Madman together. Hope to see you guys do more together. Keep the great content coming!
Just use a lil superglue and jb weld and the valves will be like new! Good land yacht for parts!!🎉🎉🎉🎉

What hell yeah brought the second channel back!! Loving it!!
My wife and I were discussing the damage pattern in that bumper right when you said "gam-gam must have been loaded after bingo night..." and I spit my coffee.
lol
Great 2nd channel video made my Friday night 🌙
Awesome! Thank you!
Excellent video Mortske :) , you both guys tried get turn over and think new rebuilt motor cure all on 383 problem Lol!

Till the next Mortske Saturday or Monday , take care , beware , God Bless you and Duff Dog the trusty garage helper , Stuart in Canada .. PS your MoPar helper was a real hoot .
Thank your lucky stars this car didn't have a 413 in it. You would have been in for a really fun afternoon if it did. Keep 'em coming!!😄😄😄
Sad case the mouse house in intake. And the valves breaking off. Thanks for sharing. 💯👊👍
How could I have missed this 😢, I get to double up on The Mortske Repair addiction I have! 😊
I love when you have guest to help with your car revivals❤😂❤😂
Hey Mortske👋, short day and no ride. That's the way it goes sometimes. Thanks for sharing.
You are a good man, Mortske.
Thanks
Love me some Mortske
Commenting More comments in the More comments section! Welcome back!
Much appreciated
Looking at the core support from the engine bay side,, that thing is a work of art. They went to a lot of
effort mounting the radiator so it was basically a sealed unit.
definitely should have some "mouse house mopar" merch
Dome are just beyond fixing. Great video
Yes they are
Mortske, Just keep it real and release all of the videos. I see so many cars in the yard that I would like to see in vids win lose or draw.
noted!
I'm partial to Brittany's...best dogs around...but Mortske, you're the bestest.
Wait... What!?!?? I thought this channel was dead... Hell yea! Got something to watch tonight after the swap meet!! Wahoo
Great seein a 2nd channel video, sometimes its nice seein the grumpy old man more than once a week! Even if it was a dud, still entertaining!
It’s never a fun time when you have stalagmites and stalactites in your engine 😂 sir mortikis supplies us with another valve breaking, rust filled and absolutely entertaining video!
😁
this channel being home to the 'will-not-runs' would not be the worst thing
Thanks for the great video!!
My pleasure!
383 HP is a good motor, my 68 satellite sport had that motor. In my dodge Monaco.
After a pisser of a day, nice surprise to see some More Mortske…
Good afternoon from Cape Cod ⚓ I believe the Mopar mad man told you you're wasting your time with the lube 😞 the mice certainly had their fun with that engine, what a mess. Thanks 👍
Excellent! Even More Mortske, talking about things to make the weekend even better! I must have done something good last week! Brilliant! Thanks ❤
Enjoy!
I love the channel and content. Haters will hate you can't win them all
Gotta say it's more fun when you have a third wheel. Especially one that can throw some back at you - ahhh if Duff could talk. Being a mopar guy I enjoyed this one a bit more. Oh and if you ever want to hire a full time camera man to get on your gravy train you got going...
