Hey thanks for the comment. Yessir, it was. A fraction of movement at controls is exponential at the load. As long as it was smooth it wasn't bad. A couple of close calls though lol. Nobody got hurt 👍 Good luck with your build
I should also mention that the leverage that is transferred to the machine is substantial with a load on it. 62 ft trusses shouldn't be an issue for weight, but you'll need full extension, i believe. 8080 is 9 ton machine? Don't know the reach, but you'll have quite a bit more power than my little 'bota, so i think you should be fine.
yea i'm going to use a spreader bar and my boom that i built was 22 ft with a 22 ft spreader and it took my 873 bobcat everything it had but those trusses were 62 ft 7/12 pitch and these are 4/12 at 560lb a piece@@lakelifecraftsman
Good video. Glad to see that you have more to offer than just snow plow videos. Even if they are some of the best snow plow videos out there, spring is coming.
Purely seasonal content for now. We are merely scratching the surface of things to come! Which reminds me, i think we are still waiting for a 2nd part to the honey extraction video, no?
You would think it would be but its easy to move around with the machine. Onto the flatdeck at emd of job and back home. Machine is a must to pick it up though. Its too heavy by hand alone.
How has it worked out? I'm wanting to build something similar for my u55 to put some trusses up on a garage, and use for taking my docks out lol. Also, I think the Deere wedge coupler is the same if you're ever needing a set of ears again. You must be in Canada?
Yessir im in canada. North western Ontario. Worked out great for that job. A little more attention or finesse is required at controls while loaded though. A little or small movement at machine is amplified at the load and can swing around a bit. But overall a very handy addition to the tool box. We will lifting trusses onto a 2 storey house later this week with it as well. I have an extension that slides into the boom as well but wasnt needed yet. Makes it 35 feet of boom plus arm and stick (although the weight to lift goes down quite a bit with the extension) just an FYI of you're building one for yourself. Thanks for the deere tip! I have a template now and just have my steelshop water jet me some when needed now. Works out pretty good.
Mike with dirt perfect UA-cam channel built a jib for his big excavator I'm not sure if you need any tips but he has a great UA-cam channel called dirt perfect
A winch on this would be awesome. Unfortunately we didnt have time to put one on. This set up works ok for now but a winch could be in the future!! Thanks for watching!
built is better than bought
I absolutely agree!
Great video. In the process of building one for my mini one ton. Thank you.
Thanks! Good luck with yours 👍
i bet it was real touchy extended that far out getting ready to build one for my jcb 8080 to lift 62 ft trusses 22 ft up thanks for the video

Hood job. Moving it around would be difficult now tho.
