I've seen female streamers do this, and the difference in messages earning a ban isn't surprising, but I am still disappointed. I'm glad Julien is getting more spam than outright hostility/harassment.

the amputee one is so funny to me. i’m also missing a toe, but like, disability (regardless of the severity) isn’t a free pass to break rules. your toe has nothing to do with your reading comprehension, and trying to use it to shame people into giving you a pass just makes you a bad person.
if you don’t legitimately have some kind of other disability that impairs your ability to process information (whether that be something like autism, adhd, dyslexia, etc) it’s ultimately your fault if you choose not to read the rules or to blatantly ignore them.
Reminds me of a time many years ago, when I was in high school, I had called out this guy for saying extremely misogynistic stuff (he was legitimately terrible to women). His response was, "You only get mad at me because I'm gay." Dumbass I'm gay too! 😂

I wanna know if my logs have any mod notes, cause I know I accidentally pissed off the mods 2 or 3 times. If i were to have gotten banned I garantee I would have said "I'm sorry" in the comment for it 🤣

he didn't say that - if i had to guess though generic messages like 'new to streaming please follow' followed by a link are often spam/malware and comments like that will get you blocked on that assumption
Almost all streamers ban people who do that otherwise chat gets full of people only being there to promote themselves. It’s rude to be there just to try and take viewers from them.
Besides being bad twitch etiquette, allowing those messages to stay is a low-level endorsement. Just like you need to get a flyer approved to hang up at a school/office bulletin board, a random first time chatter can't use Julien's large platform for self-promo without giving him the chance to vet them/their content. Subbed community members can self promo in the discord which is not something all streamers allow
That's common Twitch etiquette. You don't go into other people's chat and promo your own stream. It makes you look like you want to draw viewers away from their channel to yours and it's just plain rude.
