Definitely loved it at Wyndham! We had an excellent time. The amenities were great, the food was great and the staff were really friendly and helpful. It definitely has a young adult party vibe but with quiet areas and a small but serene beach. Good mix because, depending on mood, I look for both. And you can't beat the location being walking distance from so many options for everything.
great review, planning our trip there for August 2023, if you want resort vacation with ZERO timeshare push try Majestic resorts in Punta Cana, there are 3 side by side also one in Cancun, Majestic Elegance
Ahh glad you enjoyed it! Hope you enjoy Wyndham Alltra as well! We had a great time, the location was perfect to experience Playa's 5th ave, and the resort itself was good for sure! As far as the Majestic resorts, we'll have to look more into that! Thanks for the suggestion 🙂🙌

Well ya learn something every day! I thought the all inclusives were flights, transfers, hotels, meals and drinks. I didn't know that you could just drop in and get just that part of it. Pretty damn cool guys! I been to that area once, my oldest boy goy married in Dreams Natura Resort & Spa, just up the coast from you. Question, when you're not doing the resort thing, do you pay for things in USD or do you get a shit load of Pesos?
Yeah, you can get the full package with flights and everything if you’re coming from out of town. But you can also book it separately much like a typical hotel, just with more included! 🙌 With regards to cash, coming from Canadian income and banks, we typically just take out big chunks of Pesos and pay with those, as you typically get a better bang for your buck and we have to pay the conversion fees either way.
How timely! I am also a Canadian travelling to this resort later his week! Did you get upgraded to a better room? I am a single woman travelling to rest and recharge so I am fine without a big nightlife scene. Were there English TV channels to watch movies? Any must order coffees or cocktails? Would love any tips!
Hey hey! Fellow Canadian coming to Playa! Awesome! 🇨🇦🙌 We didn’t upgrade, but we’re pretty confident that’s an option if you were interested upon check-in, at least while we were there, it wasn’t overly crowded or fully booked. The resort had pretty basic drinks, Corona was the only beer they had available and a little limited on wine options, cocktails were all made with their house liquors, but the Margaritas and Daiquiri’s were pretty good! For coffee, the coffee bar was pretty awesome and they also served some good little pastries and ice cream all day and night. The TV did have some English speaking channels, but from our experience, only news and sports channels. Little travel tip, we always bring an HDMI cord with us and just hook up our laptop to the hotel tv’s. Unfortunately, these were bolted a bit too close at Wyndham to reach the cord back there, so that didn’t work this time around. One tip we would offer, is to take cash out off of 5th avenue. You’ll find ATM’s all along the main strip there, but they have ridiculous fees and not the safest, as we’d heard people getting their cards scanned and accounts broken into. Our favourite spot and no troubles as Canadians who bank there, Scotiabank on 10 Ave, just a couple blocks up from the Wyndham is our best option in the area. If you do go to use the ATM, it may sound weird, but DECLINE the conversion rate. You still get the money you request, but at a better rate oddly enough. Hope that helps! @@lulupuss84 We actually met family there that were there a few days more than we were. So they booked the a La carte meals a head for us, but you can just do it upon arrival, they were never full while we were there. The spa was supposedly pretty good, we didn’t personally go, but our family and the people we met there had and said good things. As far as street tacos, 🌮 we don’t know the best per se, but that’s because the ones by our grocery store, Soriana, has a few good ones side by side. So we haven’t ventured too far for them in Playa here.

There wasn't much for a beach on that resort and it was a bit covered in sargassum. However we did take a look at the beaches of that area in other videos if you're interested.
