Die höchste Bergwanderung Europas - Äusseres Barrhorn - geht bis auf 3'610 Meter über Meer und es wird nicht einmal eine Kletterausrüstung benötigt. An einigen Orten gibt es fest verankerte Stahlseile, damit ein sicherer Halt beim Auf- und Abstieg gewährleistet werden kann.
Wir starteten unsere Wanderung um 05:00 Uhr morgens beim hintersten Parkplatz im Turtmanntal auf 1'922 M.ü.M. Via Stausee ging es zuerst zur SAC Turtmannhütte 2'519 M.ü.M. (Übernachtungsmöglichkeit) bei der wir etwa um 07:00 Uhr erreichten. Durch das "Gässi" ging es dann hoch hinauf Richtung Äusseres Barrhorn, welches wir um ca. 10:40 Uhr erreichten. Von hier hat man eine wundervolle Aussicht auf das Weisshorn sowie sehr viele andere Berge. Sogar der Aletschgletscher ist zu sehen. Nach einer 1 Stündiger Pause auf dem Berggipfel begannen wir den Abstieg. Nach rund 5 Stunden erreichten wir wieder unseren Startpunkt.
Wer möchte, kann auf dem Rückweg auch noch auf das Innere Barrhorn (3'583) Wandern. Wir liessen dies aus, da dies ca. zusätzliche 20 Minuten und 100 Höhenmeter bedeutet hätten.
Es Lohnt sich früh aufzubrechen, da sich auch bei schönem Wetter gegen Mittag auf dem Berggipfel Kondenswolken bilden können. Zudem sollte der Wetterbericht am Vortag genau betrachtet werden, da sich das Wetter in den Bergen schnell verändern kann. Zudem sollte beachtet werden, genügend Nahrung und Wasser dabei zu haben. Bei Regen sollte diese Wanderung keinen Falls durchgeführt werden, da es sehr rutschige und steile Abschnitte gibt.

The highest mountain hike in Europe - Outer Barrhorn - goes up to 3'610 meters above sea level and you don't even need climbing equipment. In some places, there are fixed steel ropes to ensure a safe hold during ascent and descent.
We started our hike at 05:00 a.m. at the rearmost parking lot in the Turtmann Valley at 1'922 m.a.s.l. Via the reservoir, we first went to the SAC Turtmannhütte 2'519 m.a.s.l. (overnight accommodation) where we reached about 07:00 a.m. Through the "Gässi" we went high up towards the Outer Barrhorn, which we reached about 10:40 am. From here you have a wonderful view of the Weisshorn and many other mountains. Even the Aletsch Glacier can be seen. After a 1 hour break on the mountain top, we started the descent. After 5 hours we reached our starting point again.
If you want, you can also hike to the Inner Barrhorn (3'583) on the way back. We left this out, as it would have meant about an additional 20 minutes and 100 meters of altitude difference.
It's worth starting early because even in good weather condensation clouds can form on the mountain top around noon. In addition, the weather forecast for the previous day should be considered carefully, since the weather in the mountains can change quickly. You should also make sure that you have enough food and water with you. In case of rain, this hike should not be done in any case, because there are very slippery and steep sections.

Wrong...the highest hike in Europe is Aiguille de la Grande Sassière
It's not wrong mate, however your statement isn't wrong either. Let me explain. Grande Sassière is the highest hike in Europe but the Barrhorn is the highest mountainhike in Europe. The difference is, that a mountainhike is more challenging, so u need a better stamina. ;) hope u enjoyed the video.
