Yes I totally agee. People should stop generalizing. The Caribbean is so diverse consisting of 7000 islands of which only 100 are inhabited. The Bahamas make up for 700 of those islands. The islands that were colonized by the British, French, Spain and Dutch are completely different and each island has very unique culture. As Curacao is still very unknown and since the pandemic has an exponential growth in tourism from the US. It is suprising to me that the Americans are very open in going to local places and discovering the island. Seen some vlogs where they tried goat and iguana stew. Funchi (our version off grids) and even Jambo ( our version of Gumbo soup). I believe the reason is that we are not big in all inclusive hotels and other popular US hotel chain so the tourist are more inclined to get out and discover the island and the culture.

🤣🤣🤣🙈 Yall really shouting out P*m-Pum! Its not a bad-word or offensive, just patwah slang for the vagina like p***y. Bloodclaat/bloodcloth is an expletive. We say "yea man" all the while, not "mon". There is so much diversity on each island that you really need to spend time to get a good feel of the culture and everything. Also, people go on these curated hotel tours and think its exploring, but the best way is to get your own driver or small tour company guide to go around with.
She said she had never seen a cricket match, because the game is played by former British colonies. Football (soccer) is played in every all countries on Earth.
The problem with when foreigners come to high end resorts in the caribbean is that they usually serve a lot of foreign foods because most times the local spices can seem overwhelming. If you dont venture outside of these places and actually taste the food on the street level than you more than likely arent eating the actual "Local food" youre just eating the same burgers and fries etc made to give you "safe" options.
The entire country should be like NYC diverse, progressive, to the point, on the move, BLUE and modern, accessible and lots of social services, empowerment!
Couldn’t carry on with the video language is a bit strong, even though bleeped out easy to guess what she was saying. Maybe I am just woke. And not so open-minded as U2, my favourite Americans. Couple ❤

No with the iguana, just no. Caribbean has a lot of other great food, and not everyone is an exotic food eater.
