Mitsuru not spamming Marin Karin when set to Act Freely?! _gasp_ what is this sorcery?? For real though, you could argue “well just set Mitsuru to anything but Act Freely” but as far as I’m concerned- most players in battle encounters that ISN’T a boss will set everyone to Act Freely on instinct. Players know the AI is smart enough to get out of there and exploit their weaknesses easily, so why is Mitsuru not the case? I truly believe this is a developer’s oversight, there should be no reason Mitsuru would spam Marin Karin in Act Freely while Yukari can switch between Garu and Dia on the same condition. I think the mod seems to have addressed this issue, so all is good
@@NurulSera Marin Karin isn't even the reason Mitsuru is bad. The actual reason why she sucks on Tactics is that she will always use Mind Charge before attacking on both Act Freely and Full Assault, when in P3 this is actually an overall damage decrease (Mind Charge boosts the next attack by 1.9x, meaning that just attacking twice is almost always better). Setting characters to Act Freely on bosses is also just a bad idea lol, there is almost no character who benefits from this. Act Freely makes DPS characters like Junpei and Koromaru use items to heal if somebody gets really low or dies, when you'd want your support characters to handle that with their skills instead. Mitsuru will also prioritise her Dia skills over ailments or attacks when someone is low on Act Freely, too, so i don't really get how ailment skills are the big issue. You should basically always be using Full Assault or Knock Down over Act Freely if you want to deal damage, and use Heal/Support if you want to cast buff/debuffs/heals.
@@ShioSatou Granted, I haven’t reached end game in FES yet so a lot of issues I have with the AI may be fixed in the future and I think Marin Karin won’t be so much of a problem once it goes away. But it is something I noticed immediately, and all I thought was “man that kinda sucks a little :/” like I guess she does heal, but I already have Yukari for that so I usually ask Mitsuru to heal outside of battle Knock Down is REALLY good for Mitsuru personally in Arqa, but it’s a double edged sword cuz sometimes she just… waits there instead of using her rapier or deal some damage. There was one time in a Tartarus boss I had to switch between Act Freely and Knock Down and pray she won’t wait or use Marin Karin. In the end I had to use Assign Target Also I agree with NOT using Act Freely in bosses at all lol. I was so sad early game that I didn’t have Full Assault right off the bat cuz I think for most party members its doing wonders. I mostly only use Act Freely on regular encounters

On the topic of P3F's tactics, a friend of mine is working on a project in the background which will overhaul a lot of aspects of the game, including making some sweeping changes to the tactics system such as removing ailments from Act Freely, splitting heal/support into two seperate tactics and adding two new tactics for Healing an Assigned Target or Supporting an Assigned Target

Was just about to mention the AI Tactics fix mod when, lo and behold, it's right there in the description & Yukari used the Baton Pass. The best mod for the game, hands down - I actually gave a hoot about the tactics menu thanks to this mod instead of defaulting to Direct Command like I had with P4G & P5R on PC before. The true P3 experience tbqh

Yukari will aggressively heal the party on heal/support if her Theurgy is not fully charged. Mitsuru will use ailments and debuffs etc. Koromaru prioritizing Baton Pass, Akihiko prioritizing buffing himself and et cetera. Ofc these are all when they act freely I assume. Which I never use since I always manually change between Heal/Support + Full Assault for tough fights while Conserve SP + Full Assault on normal enemies. I remember playing FES before Reload came out. As a P3 Connoisseur, i play like this everytime but now when they got Direct Commands came in on Reload, i can control my party members easier.
Accurately how I play Persona 4 lmao, tho I'm kinda disappointed that Atlus dropped most of their AI command just because direct command is a thing, it sucks how a party member won't attack an enemy's weakness just because someone else is low on health
@@velvetbutterfly nah that doesn't work either, because there's still a chance that they'll go hit an enemy because they can kill it instead of focusing on knock down

Retaining the original FES is every way possible xD Coming from Portable to FES, I was scared of dealing with Tactics and downloaded a Direct Commands mod- but now I rarely use it and is addicted to play Persona games in Tactics now. Wished we didn’t have to download a mod to make it work properly though
@@may0n4ka7 I cant blame the voice actors, Michelle Ruff and Liam O'brien are just too good to be replaced. We also had so many Persona 3 Media Spinoffs like P3D, P4AU and PQ with returning voice actors. Changing them in the remake after so much buildup is kinda stupid imho. Probably had something to do with Vic Mignogna. Instead of recasting Junpei only and spawn discourse, just recast everyone.
