19:05 the reason i loved tns 1-3 so much is the naturalistic tone of it. for us it aired on disney and in comparisons to the other shows it was more realistic because it wasn’t so scripted. it felt like i was watching real teens real people. you guys would use the slang of the time, react like how a teen/preteen would react. i loved it so much

I started watching TNS for the dancing. (I think Dance Academy had just finished? I needed more dance shows). A big part of why I stayed was really relating to how Eldon experiences the world.
I was a fan of tns since the show started❤ im from spain and i remember seeing tns episodes on the tv and hating how your voices sounded in spanish hahaha now that im older i love watching again season 1 to 7 cause it brings me like a comfort feeling that I don’t really know how to describe Im so excited to see you react to this new season!! i would recommend, at some point, watching season 6, summer's first season. the writers sort of destroyed her, and they almost address it in her goodbye. she talks a lot about how she "wasn't herself" and didn't like "who she was becoming," which is like almost a note to the bad writing of her character in season 7. but in season 6 she is literally so sweet and was kinda treated really badly by other characters and the fandom. anyway that sorta context might help to understand her actions in season 7 and 8. really excited you're back!!!

britt! i love you! i’ve been a fan of yours since i was 10 now i’m nearly 21. i remember watching the og cast as a kid believing it was a real show. i always wanted to be a dancer and to watch a show where you felt like you were apart of that dancing world was so magical that it still has an impact on me today. and it’s so cool watching you develop and grow older and watching your mature projects on tv ❤️
Also, about the tricks vs no tricks, that's one of the reasons riley and piper were two of my favorite characters, because they didn't rely on tricks when they were dancing
i agree a little bit. i think dance in the competition world has become very tricky because tricks get a lot of points. ik some small competitions limit the amount of tricks now tho so it’ll be interesting to see that going forward.

I enjoyed watching your previous reactions during Lockdown and I can’t thank you enough for providing so much insight, joy and entertainment during that time. I’m really looking forward to seeing what you make of Season 8. In my opinion, it’s a really good season and an improvement over S7. I think there’s a nice bit of maturity in the way its shot and how the characters are after behaving now after all the drama from the last season. A Troupe deciding to give B Troupe the approval to go to Nationals instead of them showcases that maturity. :) I do like how Summer reflected on how she didn’t like how out of character she became in Season 7 and it feels like a nice self reflection and fix on her character as I felt she was great in Season 6 but then declined in Season 7 which was disappointing to me. So in a way, this exit feels like a natural conclusion to her arc even though it’s bittersweet. Looking forward to seeing more of your reactions to this Season. :)
I absolutely love the first few seasons of the Next Step. This show has meant so much to me my entire life and I love all the emotions everyone (especially you Brittany) would put into dancing. The Next Step was the reason I discovered my love of dancing. However, I haven't been able to bring myself to watch past Season 6ish. I feel like after the fourth season everything kinda went downhill, particularly these last few seasons. Honestly, they're turning TNS into drama, drama, drama to attract viewers and I hate that because it's causing it to lose the importance of the dance element I've always loved so much about the show. A reasonable amount of drama makes a show interesting, but now they have gotten to the point where they're overcomplicating anything. It's all about relationships and she said he said and rivalries and it just hurts me too watch. I physically can't watch Season 7 and especially not Season 8 because I know they're gonna make me hate TNS and that's something I would never want in my life. Personally, I prefer to live in a bubble of the first four seasons of TNS. But I love these reaction videos Brittany, it's great to see your opinion!
Season 6 is really good it feels like the old next step but seven and eight wow especially eight it’s so disappointing I don’t even think it is the next step anymore Season 4 I feel should have been the conclusion of the season 3 A troup and we seeing Their new journey and meeting the new cast In the end characters like Riley leave and after the next step loses regionals Than season 5 should’ve have Emily as studio head with Daniel as choreographer than they win regionals Michelle could join in and help Emily run the studio as co studio heads in season 6 (nationals ) Than have season seven as the very last ones closing close the journey with the new characters and nothing would feel forced !!!!! And they’ll have both Michelle and Emily move on

Sometimes there’s a off-season show a few months before a new season comes out, and it consists of short episodes that kind of just build excitement. (I don’t remember when they started, or which seasons had it). I don’t know if there were any before season 8 but I assumed there was because I felt like i was missing some context.
In case anyone doesn’t know, there was a set of off season episodes which fills in some of the gaps after S7 and introduces some of the plot lines we see in S8 😊

I’m so glad your back britt, also your new set up looks great! so quick summary, season 7 ended with A v B troupe in studio A facing each other with both troupes wanting to go to nationals. the reason why B troupe want to go is because A troupe chose dance mania (the TV dance competition) and B troupe chose nationals, and so it’s not really about technicalities or ability, it’s because of the decisions that were made. So, as a troupe disqualified themselves from dance mania, Maria voided their contract as professional dancers and so they’re not regarded as ‘professional dancers’ which is why they then want to go to nationals. so that was a quick summary haha :) also a question for your Q + A is, before the filming begins of each season of TNS, did you and the rest of the cast get a summary of what would happen in the season and the individual journey that your character goes on, so that you as the actor would know how to tackle the storyline in terms of acting and character development? can’t wait for your future reactions ☺️🫶🏼

I was so obsessed with the original seasons (1-4) to the point where, when I was in primary school me and my friends used to pretend to be characters from the next step and memorise dances from the show and do them on the playground. Also I was always Riley of course 😂

Season 8 is probably the worst season. It doesn’t even feel like I’m watching the next step anymore. They got rid of the last of the best characters, they completely changed Richelle, A troupe isn’t even really A-troupe anymore. I couldn’t even get past the first episode it was just too bad

Yeah, tried hardest to watch next seasons but finding it difficult beyond season 3.

I was so obsessed with the original seasons (1-4) to the point where, when I was in primary school me and my friends used to pretend to be characters from the next step and memorise dances from the show and do them on the playground. Also I was always Riley of course 😂
Also I went to the Wild Rhythm tour in I think 2016 and I remember Brittany wasn’t there and I was like where is Riley 😩😩
I remember watching your ballet solo in the early seasons when it first came out and being obsessed with it, so asked my mum and she put me into a ballet class. I'm now about to start dance school for ballet in September and couldn't imagine my life without it. Did you do ballet as your main style or alongside others growing up?
Yes I did! I loved ballet. It was the foundation of a lot of my training as a teenager, and it definitely elevated my technical skill over time.

Season 8 is probably the worst season. It doesn’t even feel like I’m watching the next step anymore. They got rid of the last of the best characters, they completely changed Richelle, A troupe isn’t even really A-troupe anymore. I couldn’t even get past the first episode it was just too bad
