I absolutely agree a lot can be learned not only from the student from filming but others as well. Just like you said as long as everyone realizes it's not to bash or make fun but for a learning opportunity. Thanks for sharing this Kyle. I truly hope to come down this summer and finally do this👍😁
A lot is going on right after training, second nature takes a bit of practice to kick in and you still may make bobos later on, it will happen to all of us at some point time. Underconfidence or overconfidence will take their toll 🤣 All who take training are always way ahead of the game for the most part.
Hi Kyle'O, I had my first flight, after 3 years on a paramotor, ATOM80 and a ViperXC, it was like id never been away from it. But I can completely relate to the student learning process from over a decade ago. I'm sure we are all smiling watching these, good content.
Thanks Kyle! My experience with the windsock got me injured pretty badly. I used to set it up so I could look ahead during takeoff and see the windsock. I hit it a few times in my first couple hundred flights like your student at the 18 minute mark. No big deal…then last February(22) I ran by the windsock and just as I was lifting off the tip line caught the top of the windsock pole and a tiny stainless steel hook on the top of the pole grabbed the tip steering line, collapsed my wing and dumped me on my back. I broke my ankle, my pride and my parajet maverick and tore the crap out of my GIN falcon. After a new wing, maverick and plates and screws in my ankle I’m running back into the sky now but I won’t go anywhere near a windsock pole again! Just seeing your student hit that flagpole brings it all back. I NEVER thought it was a significant hazard. Now I know better. The ground does indeed hurt. Much love!
and thats why my windsock is lightweight carbonfiber which falls over when a mosquito farts on it. but good point. i often see myself putting the windsock right in sight when i launch. maybe a liiiiittle bit further away next time. 🌬🎐🍃
Great trouble shooting video, I was actually searching for cause of my last few hard landings and I came to know it was sudden direct flyer action without giving pressure and actually you are asking students to keep pressure before full braking. Really informative. Thanks.
These are great videos for a newer pilots confidence. Let’s them realize everyone has the bumps in the beginning. You gotta learn to walk before you can run!
Thanks Kyle! I see much more success than failure here. Excellent job to all those in the vids. Simple mistakes, easily understood. I'll have to admit to having done quite a few of the same things more than once...
Great job Kyle ! I really like the fact that you keep the instructions simple and to a minimum . Ive seen some instructors that wanna bark too many orders .....hands up...hands higher ....pull left pull left ....... I think it makes for a better learning experience when you actually get to learn to fly the paramotor instead of learning to just obey someones orders.........I speak from experience.....
Yeah I messed up on my first launch n smashed my knee sat to early in the harness I’m recovering at the moment with hopes of a better result next time 😊
I've never flown the 80s but they sure seem under powered for most guys making launches more challenging and potentially dangerous not getting away from the ground. I know they are a bit lighter but not worth it imo.// This was good content (especially the Capt. Sparrow run).
I started on a Top 80 overloaded, about 120 kg all up under a Universal 1.1. If there is wind it's a non-issue. If it's nil wind, I say the pilot is in command and must judge risk and take responsibility for what happens. Me being over weight, I'd guess my nil wind success rate is 66-75% at the small LZ, to my credit it's because I don't enjoy eating raw corn. At the airport I fly from, nil wind launch success rate is more like 100% assuming I can forward launch the wing properly haha.
I started on a thor 190, then an 80, now a moster. The 80 was the least intimidating and its the engine that helped me REALLY get the courage to launch properly. Im a mere 125lbs tho, and yes, its anemic in power. If your LZ is large enough, the 80 is a wonderful choice. Priot to the 80, fear was complicating my own learning curve. Also, the weight reduction of an 80, helped. Of course, I moved up to a moster the next season, as I use small LZ'. Ii can't deny that the 80 is so much smoother and easier. If i lived at low altitude and open areas, I'd likely have an 80 still..
And just think of this, none of this would happen if you flew trike lol. No kiting or are anything. And yes, you it takes just about the same time and length to trike launch. Plus you save all your bones, joints in the long run
Hey KyleO I have been trying to get you..repeated calls and texts..wanting to set up a date in April... Driving from NC too far to just drop in .... L.D.
@@kyleoglee the video clips are in HDR format, (probably from a phone) need to learn how to adjust in whatever your editor is. Should be a quick 1 button fix.
That's a good tip that's new to me. If you have a bad kill swith, as you come in to land grip the body of the throttle handle only, not the lever. I pick something up on every video, Kyle.
Thanks Kyle for sharing your students progress. Also, a big thanks to the students for letting everyone learn from these developing skills.
Hell yeah, paramotor bloopers!

We love this stuff Kyle.. nice simple video
This is great stuff, trying to soak up everything I can before I get into the air.
Love this format! I can watch these all day and learn something from each one.

I've accounted for this. Thin connections that fail/break very easily if snagged.

came back to watch all again. love the tumble weed dance.
hey kyle thanks for this beautiful video

Very informative video
Man I remember the training days with Kyle O. Some really great tips in this video.
You'd think all of your students are watching these, to see if they are in the videos ! Lol
great commentary for new pilots !
Great video, Kyle O, great content as always

Excellent video. I would say one the best on the web. I would make my course with you Kyle!!! Excellent teacher!
So much appreciate you for sharing these experiences, Kyle. I'm heading into my second launch in a fee days.
Howdy Kyle, one more 👍 awesome move to watch, I'm from Germany Werner appreciate good Man.

Ciao Kyle! Si atterra sempre con il motore spento... Sempre, specialmente nei primi voli
Do you ever subject your students to nil wind launch torture with the Atom?
Yes!
which paramotor and Paraglider is he using?? I am 92 kg weigh. which would be the best motor and glider you recommend for me?
Where are you located at. I am interested in learning how to fly para motors.
NW Louisiana

Hi Kyle! I'm missing seeing your videos I hope you are okay
L think he did very well kyle and will become pro at it
Good contents! ;-)
Hope all is well in Kyle O'land.....we all are in need of some "good content". Take Care!!
Can't help it but every time I see a turtle I just see dollar signs $$$$
Yay..I didnt make the fumble reel :) Probably just lack of footage but thats ok.
We should wear our fumbles like a badge of honor Steve!

👍👍
THAT is not how jack sparrow runs 😅
Haha, "greasy long spot on the runway'
Another reason for a trike...
whats up, Overexposure!?
Why the over exposed videos?
I'd guess forgot to set it back after adjusting for under exposure
That's how they were received. I asked the same question.
