Not surprisingly, the alert tones and voice message are exactly the same as the Simplex version. The main hospital in my city upgraded from a semi-addressable Simplex 4100 voice-evac system (that even still used a 2001 panel setup for non-renovated areas still using conventional devices) to a fully-addressable Autocall-branded 4100ES voice-evac system, and even more surprising, they kept a good chunk of the existing Simplex speaker/visuals, even the 2903+9712 LifeAlarm speaker/lights in some areas!
@@alexandersalarms5380 Yeah, but just a good chunk of the existing alarm signals. (It REALLY surprised me to see several of those 2903+9712 speaker/lights intact!) Everything else was replaced with the addressable Autocall equivalents.
As someone who works for an Autocall dealer, I'm very surprised to see them leave Simplex branded devices installed in a new Autocall system. JCI/Simplex has big feelings about Autocall dealers ripping out Simplex systems and replacing them with Autocall often requiring permission and coordination to do so. Leaving or reusing Simplex devices is a huge problem in the eyes of JCI and can result in them terminating your Autocall dealership if they discover that was done. It has been drilled into us that we cannot under any circumstances leave Simplex devices installed in a system we retrofit with Autocall. Nor can we install Autocall devices on a Simplex system if we end up with one for service/inspections.
@@charlesblack2917 During the repairs and renovations, I saw JCI/Simplex trucks outside the hospital when passing by. It'd be kind of surprising if they were involved in the Autocall upgrade in some way (maybe they'd assist the local Autocall distributor in really big installs or something, and said distributor does have a few former JCI/Simplex techs on staff).

@@alexandersalarms5380 Yeah. Autocall seems to be getting popular in my area because you're basically getting Simplex products for a lower cost than directly from JCI.
Nope, although Texas sounds nice lol. The worst thing I can say about Autocall is that I swear there is a grand total of 2 people working for tech support and it can take days sometimes to hear back. It can be a real pain. On the flip side, the systems are super cool and factory training is a blast.
You should definitely change the voice message to something that suits the building better. The current message is very confusing. You should change it to something that is short but makes sense for this setting, is not confusing, and is loud and clear. It should also keep repeating and alternating between the whoop and the voice. The whoop tone is great though as it is a very good attention grabber. Other than that, great system! I think it will protect this building well for many years to come.
That sort of thing is really up to the customer. Not to mention this has been in service for over a year. We can only do as much as the customer wants done. They have a certain specification to follow as frustrating as it is. I would’ve programmed all-clear messages and a bunch of other cool stuff if it was up to me.
@@EverydayExitSignsince when is it up to the customer and not the engineer / AHJ Our customer can request a custom voice message but in the end the AHJ (being the fire marshal/fire dept) must approve it for the occupancy. Guessing your area does it differently which is strange to see.
My old elementary school uses auto call true alerts and an auto call 4007es
Pretty cool to see what they look like under the cover.

Good to hear they left the old devices for the most part

Autocall is basically a rebadged Simplex system.

My school has this kind of fire alarm except its different
Nice Autocall Rebranded TrueAlert ESs! Not good to see no cover plate on some
Never seen one with a speaker and a voice
You in Texas? That stadium looks oddly familiar. We just brought on Autocall as well, getting ready to start our first job with it.

autocall copied simplex just like ADT copied fire lite and notifier
Autocall is owned by simplex. It is an alternative to dealing with strictly Johnson controls.
@@EverydayExitSign okay
autocall & simplex are under JCI, autocall is the less proprietary version of Simplex like EverydayExitSign said.
