I have traveled a lot on the karjat-lonavala track, I used to sit on the gate of the compartment with both of my legs hanging out, as it was mostly crowded inside, and trust me those view made me feel like I was riding on a cloud... I dont know how would a real heaven look like but for me it was a true heavenly experience everytime.

I had travelled between Mumbai and Pune several times. The western ghats the train passes through is incredible and its beauty increases 10 folds during mansoons. Ofcourse I travelled several places in India by train but western ghats or rather the ghats between Karjat and Khandala is my favorite and that Lonavala chikki is my favourite.
India is a big country with variety of landscapes. Train journey in India is much more fun. Passing through green fields, passing through barren lands, passing through jungles, passing through ghats, passing through several small towns and cities. As a kid it was a favourite pastime to read and memorise strange sounding station names.

Pumban bridge....... Wow...... Feeling lack of words to explain the beauty of Rameshwaram. Home town of the Indian President Dr APJ Abdul Kalam, who was the President of the common man the India. One of holiest temple i. e. Rameshwaram is located here. The city of fishermen. Please please visit Rameshwaram once in life.
The train journey from Pamban to Rameshwaram is worth enjoying. It passes through sea, as Rameshwaram is an island between India and Sri Lanka. In last century this train was going upto Dhanushkodi, bordering Srilanka. But one heavy Strom did so much damage that it was terminated bat Rameshwaram. To facilitate ships passing, there are two liftable gurders on the bridge which are lifted up for ships and restored when train passes.
