    I would love to learnabout how you organize the snakes in the racks label cages and what type of record keeping program you use!!!

    I’m not trying to be rude and I don’t know everything but are you sure that the tub the females are in is large enough because they look quite large and don’t look like they can stretch out all the way, I heard that the snake should be able to stretch along the longer and shorter side with a bit of room so that they can stretch out if they want. Again I don’t know everything but I don’t think that the females cage is large enough for a permanent cage. Tell me if I’m wrong please!

      Allahja Flowers I understand that, but lots of breeders have larger tubs for their larger snakes so they can still live a comfortable life

      Allahja Flowers I do understand this. I also hate big snakes in cramped enclosures, which is why when I start breeding, I plan to keep them in larger enclosures. Gotta stop all the big snakes in cramped spaces stuff.

    Do you notice the head bobbing at all with your snakes when no member of the opposite sex is present?
    I have 4 Westerns, 2 males and 2 females and all 4 display the head bob when I gently rub my finger under their chins.

    After breeding, do the snakes get larger enclosures? They seem a little cramped.

      Hognoses like smaller enclosures. It's not very uniform. I've got one female in a tub that's about the floor space of a 40 gallon, and she's happy and feeds regularly, but I have another female who quit eating when I put her in the larger tub so she lives in a tub the size of the ones in this video. Most of the breeders I've talked with say that tubs about this size are best. They hang out in holes and under leaf litter in the wild. They like feeling secure

    • @Carriesue1982
      @Carriesue1982 3 роки тому

      I have found that mine stop eating reliably when they’re in larger enclosures.. they are in racks, that said I do provide hides and deep enough bedding for them to burrow since they are fossorial but I can understand on this scale that would be harder to do.

    Since your snow male became breeding size, have you been able to produce snow anaconda babies with the double het snow female? In this video she looks like a anaconda morph.

    I have a pair that I'm pairing right now and they've been locked for over 2 hours and I'm worried she is going to injure him or herself, because at this point she is actively trying to get away.

    I will be getting female baby from this year clutch and in 3-4 years I plan on breeding my babies, but I am afraid that my female would eat the poor guy since it will be first time breeding for both of them :/ I aim for toffecondas have toffe boy possible albino and one parent was anaconda and will be getting supeconda girl that has extreme yellow albino superconda momma yet it is too far into future but I am already scared what would happen :/ any recommendation ?

      It is the risks of breeding. Many things can happen. Females are come egg bound, females can eat the male. Things that you have to be prepared for.

    I lost my female through cannibalism. The male was literally half her size and the pair and been mating that day. I went to check on them and found the female had been eaten and regurgitated up.

    • @ThePhotocaddy
      @ThePhotocaddy  6 років тому +4

      Andrew Llewellyn Your Male ate the female? I'm sorry to hear that

    • @shannonxpennywise
      @shannonxpennywise 3 роки тому

      That's strange, it's usually the female who will eat the males.
      Are you sure you didn't try mating a young female with an older male?...🤔

    • @Andrew-qn8fu
      @Andrew-qn8fu 3 роки тому

      @@shannonxpennywise the male was 17" and the female was 32" and twice the girth of the male. In my mind I was nervous pairing them up because I was afraid the female would eat the male. He had managed to get over a quarter of her down before he spewed her back up.

    Adult females in a v18? That’s to small for adult females and no room for a lay box.
