Because as a leader he has had children dance in and out of his life. He sees his teenage mask of over confidence reflected back on so many faces that he loved and lost. So how can he hate the younger him?
i love this so so SO much. i’ve always thought that if f!leo and leo ever met there wouldn’t be this projected self anger but more of fondness and protectiveness. not wanting his younger self to ever have to feel the pain of losing his brothers, pain of knowing what that guilt feels like, i think he would want to reassure the leo we know as much as he could because he never got that reassurance himself. (also the frame of casey and leo looking at f!leo actually changed my life and i could write SOO much about how similar they are and how f!leo is such a huge symbol to both of them)
