A good business trick is what I call reverse NAIC research e.g. You know your company NAIC e.g. 1.1.2.3.4....now search for all companies that have same 1.1.2.3.4 NAIC in another State / Country and you have just created a list of potential partners/ competitors without ever leaving your desk. If list large , filter against criteria such as Turn over/ company size/ how large a catalog of products they manufacture...sell/ whether they are distributors or manufacturers or both etc.... Finish off with a web search of final refined list to look at prospects to see if a fit seems possible and a direct approach now warranted.
