If you have lost or forgot your windows 10 password to login to windows, then this video is for you. I will show you a real easy way to reset or clear the forgotten password. This will only work on a Local Account and not a Microsoft Account setup.
You can use lazesoft to recover the lost password for free as long as it is not for commercial use. Lazesoft Recover My Password Home Edition is designated for home user only

Don't even have enough words to thank you! I am the keeper of the passwords in my family, but the one password I never wrote down or put into a file was my husband's PC login (I KNEW I'd remember it ... HA!). He died 2 years ago and I have been trying on and off, using all his known passwords unsuccessfully. Came to UA-cam today and did a search... and there you were! Just that you need to start with the end of the video, where you download the software on the other computer and put it on usb. Then on my computer I had to switch boot mode from Uefi to Legacy, after pressing F12 on Dell. And only after that can you follow the first steps of the video...
After finishing with all the steps and you reboot again, at the end, you need to press f12 (on dell) and switch boot mode back to Uefi.

There is a step missing. You need to go back into the bios and take it out of legacy mode after you have used lazesoft. It then works.

Anas Nadif After you've followed the steps upto 4:01, your computer will begin restarting. Keep pressing F9 (or whatever you're command is depending on your computer) to enter Bios, as you did previously in one of steps. Then, get out of legacy mode and select the options that were selected before you changed to legacy mode. Then, exit and it was start restarting automatically. Let me kow if that makes sense.

Get on another computer and download LazerSoft and open the program... then burn to a disk or thumb drive whatever operating system is on the computer you can't get on because you forgot the password (LazerSoft) will give you a choice of operating systems to choose to burn.. If it is Windows 7 64 bit then choose that and burn to the disk or thumb drive. Then go to the computer that you can't get in, change the boot order to whatever your using, if your using the dvd/cd then change the boot order to that,,,if your using a thumb drive then change the boot order to a usb device. For instance on my computer (the one i cant get in because i forgot the password) i press the power button and then start tapping the F12 button and the boot order screen comes up...if i am using a thumb drive i click on USB Device or if i am using a DVD i click on CD or DVD. Now put that dvd or thumb drive in before you press F10 to save your setting and the computer will restart to your disk of choice. So your taking that disk or thumb drive sticking it in the computer you can't get on and restart it, then it boots to that cd or thumb drive after you change the boot order and restart. When the LazerSoft program opens up you can click on password, product key, clone or data recovery whatever you want to do Simple and easy to use!! You see you don't even get to the password screen on the computer you lost the password on because the program loads (LazerSoft) before you ever get to that password screen. And the LazerSoft program takes the password off, it is real easy to use!! This is actually for passwords anyways, easier than Hirens Boot Cd, but Hirens has a lot more things on it that are useful...both are nice to have!
I would do this after buying thumb drive and another laptop. Thank you! Stupid microsoft and windows 10 won't accept my password after update. My keyboard doesn't work too. I can't reset without removing files or restore becauss it requires your password and even if I put it, it says the password is wrong. So much time has been wasted. I guess I need to buy another laptop and reset my password then I can get my files. It may take months, sigh :(
@@DianaRoseYanni Sorry to hear about your frustration i know it sucks, I would fix for free if you lived close (Iowa). If you could get a copy of "Hirens Boot Cd" for your local computer store, advertise on craigslist for one or order off eBay or Amazon. There cheap like 5 bucks, once you got a copy of that i could text you back and forth and help you access and change your password with that Hirens Boot Cd. Its real easy to do no computer skill at all, i could just walk you through with easy to follow steps! You might have a friend that could download the Hirens Boot Cd from the internet and burn it to a thumb drive or cd for you then you would be set to go!! Just let me know if you need the help!

Just like to say thanks. Used this video to reset a password for a friend who had locked themselves out of their laptop and didn't want to do a factory reset. Still works in April 2020.

@@brooklynthibodeaux6495 I Googled the type of computer (asus) and followed a video that showed how alter the settings.
This worked! A few things I learned the hard way:
1. You need to run the software in admin mode. So if you try running it just after installing it, it won't work. You need to double click it after you installed it to run it.
2. Booting from BIOS gave me trouble. Here is what I found from SuperUser site that worked for me: "You need to enable booting from non-EFI devices. This option can be found in most BIOSs called the Compatibility Support Module or CSM. This option is sometimes hidden until you disable Secure Boot. I've also seen it hidden until Fast Boot is disabled. Once you enable the CSM module and set it to boot EFI + Legacy boot devices you shouldn't have any trouble booting your USB device."

the program needed to interface with windows as I found out the hard way.

It worked perfectly to me. Just to add little, you guys need to install this software on your other device. Run the program. Format your usb (not quick format). Select burn the usb or cd. Insert usb. Restart locked pc, press f12 or del or f2, then go to boot, select usb flash drive. Then follow the remaining procedure
Ps: if you don’t know the windows version like me, just go to bios see system config and search processor model. This will give you its release date. Cross reference windows version. Alternatively, on your motherboard you may see windows version.
I installed windows 7 as told by my motherboard but it turned out to be Windows XP. So I guess type also doesn’t matter

This procedure worked perfectly on Windows 10 pro 64bit even though not listed as software option. Spilled liquid on my DELL XPS laptop whereby keyboard ceased to function creating inability to log on. This video & software was a rescuer to enable booting up w/o password then on-board keyboard temporarily. Thanks again for your extraordinary channel Brian!
You do know that you could have just plugged in an external keyboard? Probably would have been a much easier solution.

Nice interface on the Lazesoft program. I myself use the DOS/Linux text based Password Remover which is on my Hiren's Bootcd 10.4. Not as pretty as the Lazesost program, but once you got the right sequence, it's pretty straightforward. I made quite a few people happy by using this tool.
I get error Failed: Connection Closed. All is okay with my internet connection.

Hey I have a question since you seem to know a lot about this stuff. So, I accidentally deleted the wrong file and my laptop kept on crashing and everything so I decided to reset my laptop. That took a while but it worked a while later. I turned my laptop back on and the login screen came on, but it said username and password or login with a microsoft account. At first I tried logging in with my microsoft account but it didnt work.. so then I remembered the username so I entered that and the password before but it still didnt work. Do you know what Im doing wrong?

*** IT WORKS! *** Thank you, it's a brilliant tutorial straight to the point. For those having problems and the USB does not show on startup, read this:
- Modern machines use UEFI and the Lazesoft format does not really do this right.
- Run Lazesoft and select create an ISO instead of USB. Save the ISO anywhere, not important.
- Install RUFUS (free software, easy to find on Google). I used version 3.5 Portable (so I don't need to install it)
- Insert the USB and run RUFUS. Select the USB device.
- In boot selection select ISO image and then find the ISO you created with Lazesoft.
- Select Partition scheme GPT and target system UEFI.
- Filesystem I selected FAT32 (default) and cluster size also default.
- Burn the USB and then you're ready to go.
*** Also just so you know, in Win10 64 the system detected something was not right after resetting the password and attempted a system repair. Then it said "windows can't repair" blababla after a few seconds. Don't worry, just select continue loading, it works fine.

I've got Lazesoft version 4.1.0.1 registered and it DOES NOT WORK with Windows 10. Haven't tried that crap with W7/W8 yet though

+Juanjo C Its very simple I installed sazesoft on my friends laptop running win 10 and attached Pendrive and ran software which made pendrive bootable and then I used that PD on my laptop set USB disk as bootable device.Now follow the steps video it will remove password. One thing though you will loose user data on c drive everything will as it was before.

It worked! It states that my password is not local. It only allows me to log in as administrator(in safe mode). Do you know how to change that? Thanks!
Windows key+R Type in msconfig and if your admin just Look for the “Boot in Safe mode”Thank me later.

Over the years many people forget their password or can't find the piece of paper where it was written down, but because they have deactivated the login screen they have no problem booting into their Win10 installation. Still, it would be good to be able to again have the password in case there is a problem. What to do in that case? Everything works fine but I noticed that I have no more any clue what my password was.
I only have one boot option and its not usb...
How will I download it to a USB drive if I'm locked out of my computer...

@@prisoniffyuhsoapisgettinslippy He is just saying if you don't already have the software made, you can download it on another computer. Heck if he already downloaded it on any computer he can get in like on a thumb drive or disk, he could use that fool, so just depends on it you already made the password recovery cd or done it after your computer was locked up. Hirens boot cd is what i always use for user password recovery, for the system password i just pull the cmos battery out and use the jumper or if they have a button on the motherboard to push to reset the bios i use that. It just depends to on if your doing anything else to the computer. If the computer is really screwed up i might have planned on reinstalling the operating system anyways, so reinstalling would take care of all my issues including the password !!
It boots to Lazesoft not to windows so you need no password Einstein!!
