In Sweden, young girls dress up, like those angels you found, with candles on their head held with a headband. They bring breakfast treats to their parents during the Christmas season. It is called St. Lucia’s Day and is celebrated on December 13. Lots of history behind the tradition.
Ooh my, that signed etched pottery vase, those are the pieces I find and add to my hoard, I mean, my personal collection🤣. It's a uniquely individual piece by a skilled artisan. I get such a thrill when I've picked up a CLL treasure before CLL does; means my sourcing skills are improving 😊 Found a Heather Goldminc autumn glow bell yesterday!!!
Ugh that lidless treasure craft was a heart-breaker! I probably would've bought it just for me to hold utensils or something. If the baby comes when you're in Goodwill maybe they'll give you a lifelong discount LOL
For the life of me I do not understand why most Goodwill's have such loud music, even some grocery stores I've been in the music is so loud I really want to leave. Thanks for taking us along, see you at the next one.

Third baby pops right on out too. Between labor pains and deciding on whether to buy a lamp. She can ask the baby if she should buy that lamp. Because she will be born in that lamp isle.

I really hope goodwill managers watch this video..they can see what a customer goes through with the music…I live in arizona, and our goodwills blast music…almost gives me a headache at one, so I just stop going :( great video :) love seeing what you find :)
Yes, it's obnoxious, and blasting the A/C when the outside temp is in the 50's Fahrenheit. Crazy!

Hi, I know two bookends is ideal but one works just as good when the other end of the books is placed towards the bookshelf. If it gives you vibes I say you should pick them up.
I use one book end and the side of the shelf. I just like the looks of mismatched. The Blue sky pear was my favorite

Regarding the single wagon wheel book end , if you do any DIY projects, you could use it in a minature fairy garden or a setting like that. I have a big imagination 😝
Wow that store is so loud!! Between the loud music and the employees breaking glass constantly throwing it a way I actually have quit shopping at Goodwills that are that loud including that store in Frederick. Many of us have complained but didn't help.
I was just at that location last week and I agree 100%.
It sounded like the singer was live and in concert right there in the store.
My in-laws live right across the street from that new Goodwill! I can’t wait to tell them as they know how much I love your channel!

The loud music does not make me shop, it makes me leave !! All the stores need to turn it down !!😱. My GWs are very very expensive. I have given up shopping there. I don’t resell.
Watching your videos from a year ago and then watching your recent videos I’m noticing how much the pricing has changed in your thrift stores. The same thing has happened here in Australia! Since covid, prices have gone nuts in our op shops.
I'm with you there. I get so disgusted with their prices. I feel like they're looking up comps and pricing the same or more. They're all so small compared to the Goodwill stores so I sometimes find one bargain but there's certainly no need for a shopping trolley.
@@debsmith2269 yep same here! I’ve caught staff googling items before so I told them if they’re going to look up prices they can at least do it correctly and search eBay sold prices rather then going by listed or google image prices 🤦🏽♀️ they looked pretty embarrassed to be caught in the act haha
Remember, they went through Covid also. Many were closed. Pricing had to change.

Love that stack of red/white Temptations plates that you passed up. I love those...collecting a variety the last few years. I have found some at thrift stores. Anyway, I know you have a "no Temptations" rule LOL. I enjoy your videos.

As you were reaching through to check the Apple canisters, I noticed the blue set of china (little blue flowers with silver accents). That is the same as my set that I still have from when I was first married. It was from Montgomery Ward and is more than 50 years old. Exciting for me to see it, but kind of sad it doesn’t have a home.
I used to love shopping at Montgomery Wards what a good store it was. I have a few pieces of furniture I bought a few months before it closed for good. Most of the furniture there was made of real wood at decent affordable prices.
I have a treasure craft cookie jar lid. It does have a chip on the under side but is still useable.

The horse was a Breyer!
I like the light clink of stacking cups and dishes. It just reminds me of the sound of thrifting and I get in the mood to go hunting myself. But the background noise in some of the videos sounds like people are playing Frisbee with the dishware. No surprise that most of it doesn't survive all that tossing about.

Icehouse was my fave band as an 80s teen, I was even in their fan club LOL Weirdly I haven't heard any for ages but the last 2 times I've been in my local thrift the radio played it, and last week they played Crazy (my fave) so I heard it here and was like 'wtf' 😆

Saw a Glassy Baby in 2019 when we were in San Francisco. Purchased two, one for my daughter’s birthday and one for my friend’s birthday. It was a booth in the Ferry Terminal, noisy and crowded, but the display with most of the Glassy Baby’s with tea lights lit, was just so beautiful and had a calming affect. My friend gave me one for Christmas and I light it when there is a storm. I am not one to be into meditation, clamming techniques but for some reason, I feel better when I have it lit. Hope you find one!

I found a Warerford ships decanter with the smallest,faintest marking. Had to use the magnifyer on my phone to find it.

That was a breyer horse that you picked up. That was a really good price for it too! UGH why can I not find any like that at my goodwill stores!

I think that is definitely a Breyer horse! I believe the older molds have a stamp on the inside of the rear legs, it is like a circular stamp.
I've definitely had some good finds at that Goodwill in Middletown. Next time you visit the town look up, Deb's Artisan Bakehouse. One of the best bakeries in MD and Deb is so nice; I drive 45 minutes just to get their baked goods.

I know that you've probably have already been told this, but that those green bowls, at the 15:50 mark, with the leaf design and the 2 holes are indeed NOODLE bowls. the holes are for resting your chopsticks

That china teapot is probably worth some $$...and a creamer separated but not sure if sugar there. Not knowing price don't know if it was good price. I collected when I was younger and cups and saucers...started by my grandma and we had teaparties.

That was a Breyer horse in this video but it was not worth much. Some Breyers are not marked.
You are certainly not the only one who says the following phrase, but it cracks me up!! "It is definitely probably worth it!" (I have also heard recently "It is probably definitely McCoy, etc". Just makes me laugh. Take care of yourself and watch about stretching so much.

My ceramic prayer angel's name is "PAM" located on neck (lift head). I received as a gift in 1996. Each named by maker.
Love your videos. You said you would have to research the signature on the pottery. How do you do this effectively? I try to use Google lens and bing, but it doesn't work very well.

I've done well with Tienshan Cabin in the Snow china, at the right price. It's not very expensive, but can bring a good return at Christmastime.

I only got a brief glimpse of the lamp you were interested in wrangling so my info might be wrong. I think it was a Mid-Century Modern Rembrandt lamp (and it looked authentic). These lamps are tall with a half-glass upside down globe shade rather than a traditional fabric shade. I have purchased 7 of them, of various styles, over the years at estate sales and all for less than $20.00. Six have been valued at anywhere between $200.00 - $350.00 and one of them has been valued at nearly $750.00. I've seen them on ebay and other auction sites for upwards of $1300 to $1500 dollars. If one is really lucky they'll stumble onto a matching pair but none of mine are a matched set. My sister has a few as does one of my nephews. We're addicted to finding them and purchasing them because they're more than just a lamp - they're architectural structures that fit nicely into corners and on fireplaces, etc. If you ever seen one again - don't walk on by - grab it, pay for it, and go go go.
