This is hilarious! My favorite part is when Cory held Cookie Monster's hands and said "I believe in you". LOL.
In adulthood, you don't only need to put off good things until later. Usually, you have to exclude them all together.
that feeling when the cookie monster has more self control than me
How I love that blue fur ball 😍
When you are forced to use up your willpower dealing with the constant stream of crap life is throwing at you, it can be hard to say no to that "cookie".
@@isaackvasager9957 My sentiments exactly!
Carol deck refutes the concept of willpower depleting in her research.
It is easy once you realized it will harm your body and soul
What a fun video! Parents can use this to teach their children self control. Thanks NPR :)
This incredible video uses skills that I have been learning about from CBT (cognitive behavioral therapy). As a man with both bipolar and OCD, I found this kind of thinking very helpful. It is particularly about thinking before reacting. Defusion is one of the most helpful skills I have learned from CBT.
Awesome video, NPR! Learned a lot from it as a parent and leader. We’d like to share this video with the leaders in our organization. Thanks for this!
The school counselor showed this to my students during guidance and they absolutely loved it.
Self-control =
A) Keep your mind on something else.
B) Breath.
C) Keep busy.
D) substitute one pleasure for another wasn't included but I'll add

He writes cookies not vegetables
Soo funny, entertaining and also a good way to learn self control
This was a great video to teach children different strategies they can use to self regulate. The strategy to help kids calm down like deep breaths is a tool that they can use in different scenarios inside and outside the classroom. After all, managing emotions is an important component of self regulation that children need to actively practice well into adulthood and will greatly aid them in developing a high degree of emotional intelligence. This video was entertaining and well thought out, definitely will be showing it to my child and sharing it with my friends who have children!
Not me in therapy watching thus 😻

This perfectly illustrates the relationship between healthy people and other people.

Good one.
🤣
Why Dr. Zhivago? Could they not have chosen a more appropriate book for a children's video?
All i know is that eating a box of thin mints in a day does NOT make one thin.
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Wow, they're just killing fun at every level of a kids' development. Make Cookie Monster Cookie Monster again!
John Syzlack I think self regulation is important to learn for children. Cookie Monster can be used as a teaching tool for self regulation, as he has problems with self regulating himself to eat cookies. In the end of this clip, Cookie Monster can be shown eating his cookies again like his usual self. So, Cookie Monster is still Cookie Monster, but he can be used to teach self regulation.
@@alatussolanum Are you hearing yourself, man?
John Syzlack oof I think I either got trolled or repeated myself too many times, whoops
