So is the joke that if you buy the bono phone the money goes to african women, children, and gay men with aids? And that the money doesn't go to heterosexual african men with aids? I read the other comments in here but I just don't understand this joke at all.
Kovington Schreiber people used to believe that aids only affected gay men. Larry made a joke, pretending to be ignorant and still believe that. Honestly, it wasn't that well timed, or executed. I think it was used in this scene to start building tension between Larry and the rest off the room, particular Dansen, as it created an uncomfortable vibe at his party.
0:41 Larry: "That doesn't affect heterosexuals right?" Jeff: "HAHAHA WHAT ARE YOU DOING" I love the fact that Jeff was he only one who laughed at the joke. Fucking love the chemistry between those idiots.
This is easily one of my favorite scenes. The way it all escalates. And the driver drunkenly stumbling into the room, breaks a vase and then runs away giggling
This might be my favorite curb thing ever. The obnoxious laughing at something as ridiculous as a freak book is so horrendous and SO funny. Only Larry David man...only Larry David.
I admire LD's lack of shame so much, he turns a mortifying situation into a nothing moment, its probably impossible for catholics to ever achieve the no shame state
I noticed something that I do after viewing a clip, I laugh of course but I look around the room to see if anyone else is laughing too, thing is I am listening to the clip wearing my ear buds 🤣
Originally the vase the drunk limo driver knocks over is the present that Bessers character bought Ted Danson, not the phone, but the director changed it, much to his disappointment. He's right of course, the scene would have been much funnier if the vase was the present Danson was all excited about.

Actually if you watch the very opening of the scene there are a few people sitting on the "L" portion of the couch.

Good observation.

If you look at the actors faces, many of them are trying hard not to laugh in the first minute or two.
