  • On June 22, 2021, Jacob Brothers and McElhanney Ltd. removed a temporary Acrow bridge on Highway 14, 3.5 kilometres south of Port Renfrew.
The bridge had been supporting the flow of traffic after the highway was reduced to single-lane traffic in November 2018 after significant rainfall resulted in a slope failure. The slope rehabilitation project was completed in summer 2021.
The bridge was a single lane 42.6-metre-long span weighing 40 tonnes and was founded on concrete block abutments.
Interesting tidbits about the timelapse video:
    - The set up and move of the Acrow bridge took about six hours.
    - During the removal, you'll notice the crane onloading and unloading yellow objects on and off itself. These plates are counterweights, which assist with the physics and balancing of the crane during the lift.
    - Once the bridge is out of the way, the excavator starts to build the new road alignment.
