    As a maker with a full shop of the latest CNC machines, CAD/CAM software, and toys, I have to admit your raw skill remind me that it's not the tools that make the piece amazing, it's the talent of a craftman. Thank you for sharing your amazing efforts and projects!

      Cool shit bro ! Like the profile knife for the left right swing mechanism and how you made it.But why did you made the nut for trapezoid /acme screw when you could have made pipe under anvil a little bit longer and then make a plug with thread.Or just buy chinese trapezoid screw and nut already done.(maybe this would be simple).
      Except that nut which is weak point of most of vices(yours is not made of cast iron so maybe it will last longer),great job !

    what I like about your work is that you go to it. Many people who I tried to learn from on youtube talk so much about precision that one gets affraid to start something because you know that your machines and your know how is not that good so that you can build a part which can compare to a cnc milling machine, but maybe sometimes its better to just go ahead and build something and let repiting it get you there :) Thank for sharing...

    • @DanielDeArco
      @DanielDeArco 6 років тому +3

      ri mar yeah but I wasn't referring to beginners per se... Makers, blacksmiths, etc. in general who are serious about their craft will have a lot of what he has. Drill press and welder aren't rare. The most expensive thing he has seemed to be a lathe-which is pretty common in metal working shops. If somebody wants this type of quality, they will make the proper investments. But creativity does not come from your tools. That's the main point.

    •  6 років тому

      i dont know why i used "blacksmith beginner" for the title :))) i mean, if u want to be or want to make something as blacksmith the first thing u definitely should have is Anvil. And even i have those tools, im still not blacksmith at all. That's "BEGINNER"

    That was excellent, and very well done! I enjoyed watching the entire video, both the parts that required skill and precision, and also the parts that we quite showy - your "sparks in the dark" were well filmed. The finished tool looks wonderful. Thanks - great video.
