- When the show spent the week in Chicago.
1. May 3, 1989. Chicago Museum of Science and Industry.
2. May 5, 1989. Chicago Tour with Bozo the Clown.
Frank Sinatra's "My Kind of Town" muted due to copyright block.
Thank you for editing out the song so we could see Bozo. He's a true American Icon. I remember sitting in front of the tv every morning at 7 before school to watch him and Cookie and Bullwinkle reading poetry and the bucket game etc. Good times. Simple times.
get that Schwinn
Or maybe a package of Archway cookies.😒
This isn’t Bozo related, but do you remember the five eight eight, two three hundred, empire 🎶 jingle?
@@brainwashingdetergent4322 yes and if you were watching WGN around this time you certainly remember the Lincoln Park Zoo commercial with cartoon animals singing doo wop "a world of fun and it's brand new. we're going down to the lincoln park zooooo"
@@slimydick23 so I looked up that jingle, and the imagery is familiar, the jingle/song is not. I would have been six or seven when that came out. It really is amazing how many things are forgotten from one’s youth unless prompted.
No one see the true star in the video... ROSE SIMON, of course. Dave wouldn't have been the captain if he didn't take the captain's hat from Rose.
"(DL)You know where I got this hat?" "(Random Lady)From the boat of course." (DL)I got it from Rose." "(Random Lady) From Rose, ok?" "(DL) Yeah, when she wasn't lookin, POW! Turned her right back and grabbed her hat."
Rose Simon is my grandmother. Thank you very much for posting this segment online. She didn't miss a beat. To clarify for those not watching the video, Rose didn't wear the hat cause it would mess up her hair so she let Dave wear it and he continued to wear it through the clip in the segment that I quoted above.
Love you all. Love you Granny Rose!!! You've been looking down on me everyday watching our family and granting me all of my achievements.
Thanks for posting this. As a lifelong Chicagoan, I remember this fondly, and we still quote "Hey Bozo, we're standing in it" 30 years later!
Very good! I had absolutely no issues with watching it with that muted!
I Love You Bozo, so much and forever!! I can't thank you enough for being part of my childhood!!
Ugh, the dreaded copyright block. I'm sorry you had to go through that nonsense. But the video was great. I finally got to see the complete tour with Bozo.
Late night was the best show of the eighties.
Remarkably high quality! Kudos to whomever archived this.
Thanks.
Thank You For Giving Us The Good 💓 Stuff! I Love Your Channel!
Joey D’Auria was the WGN Chicago Bozo. I saw him years later in a Chekhov play.
He was good, but THE Chicago Bozo will Always be Bob Bell
But the real Bozo was Bob Bell they'll never be another
"I've had dreams like this." "I have trouble with gravies" "You shouldn't have told me now it won't come true."
I never knew Steven Wright won an Oscar for a short film. Interesting

Hey Don any chance of posting the entire episode? Chicago week >? thanks
I wish I could, but I’m now no longer able to upload additional Dave-owned or -licensed content.
Love bozo very fun y
And I do believe that thay are still friends like he wish lol 😂😆
What a weird combination -- Bozo in a meat processing facility. 😁
I may have some news footage regarding these two shows...I will check if you like.
Definitely!
@@dongiller It turned out to be the footage I already sent you, with Gene interviewing David and Dennis Rodman.
Ah, right. From the Late Show years.
can't let those to seconds of a song slip through eh copyright demons...ffs....that is ridiculous :(
DO you think DAVID suffered from Claustrophobia?
No, I don’t think DAVID did.
UA-cam cries over copyrights.
Dave in his 80s bomber jacket. Also this is not, obviously, the original bozo. It’s like the difference between the original Steve from Blues Clues and the follow up actor, Joe, towards the end of the show. OR, like the New Son of Svengoolie.
bozo got dave early
Used to catch Bozo on WGN in late eighties and he seemed really bitter. Probably dealing with kids in the morning was rough.
No Gacy jokes? Cmon Dave
Those crimes were still fresh in people’s minds. It would have been in poor taste.
He was a year ahead of IT too... Imagine how THAT would have went!!!
