What you want to do is disable Auto-sync, then delete which ever save file is the oldest. In my case, it was the Cloud storage save that was two weeks out of date Once the outdated storage save is deleted. Enable autosync again and your most up to date storage save (console for me) will re-sync/update your deleted storage save (cloud for me) This will fix/remove the message alert in its entirety

I think you should have picked the cloud file as the one you backed up is the one on the PS5, that way if the one on the cloud was corrupted you could have restored the one on the USB (I miss the simple days were you could use a 15 blocks memory card, carry it with you to a friend's house and copy it... they overcomplicated things with linking saves to accounts...

I find the USB backup complexities annoying as I would like to take my saves with me when I travel to my other home (have the same consoles in both homes) yet can't justify Plus for that reason alone (don't care about any of the other features of the plus)
I ree downloaded psn plus free game days gone and it workes fine and saves like normal bit the game is not showing up in the auto sync menu, you know why?

There wasn't a copy on the USB. It did not let me put one there. You are right about things being too complex nowadays.

You will just have to make that decision on your own. You have the date, time, and file size to go on and nothing else, so it's basically a guess.
