Hello! I know this is an old video, but with the latest 1.7.2 version of Diffeomorphic, I can't find the "Import Action" button, can you help me please? Thanks!
I have 1.7.3 right now. A while ago, it was split into two tabs, Daz Setup and Daz Runtime. In Daz Runtime, there should be a Posing Section where Import Action can be found.
I'm only able to import the model but when I try to follow your instructions for importing the animation I just get "ERROR (1.6.2.1277); Scanned morphs for Genesis8Female do not exist" and I have no idea that that means :( I have the skeleton selected before importing the action, and I follow your exporting instructions from Daz perfectly so I have no idea!
Sorry, just seeing this (it got put in another comment bucket for some reason). But it looks like your question was answered in the Diffeomorphic forums. bitbucket.org/Diffeomorphic/import_daz/issues/1417/scanned-morphs-for-genesis8female-do-not
Thanks for sharing. So we can import the daz animatiom saved as pose preset into blender? Can it also import shaping preset animation of facial morph animation the same way?
I believe that will work. One time I used the lip synch tool in the 32bit version. I believe that manipulates morphs along with bones. I save that as a preset as my singing animation. I am able to import that to Blender onto another Genesis character of the same type.
Thanks a million for this, but would you know how to import a scene with more than 1 character being animated ? Would each figure have to be imported separably and placed into the A-pose first..
If you exported and imported in the FBX format instead of this plugin, that would work. Although the materials wouldn't be as great. I haven't tried to export more than one character using this plugin.
Great tutorial!!! Tried it and it works great. Is there a way to animate the character rig once it is in Blender??? Would love to see if that's possible and how to do it.
Make sure during export and import, you are including the entire range and not just the current frame. On the Blender side, be sure to use import action and not import pose.

For Blender, I guess the equivalent would be look dev mode. In general, it can be smoother because Daz is always trying to smooth out clothing with any movements while Blender does not. Specifically with Daz characters, it may not be faster because of the high resolutions of all the textures. Depends on the complexity of the characters/objects.
How are the motions created in Daz Studio? I ask, because sometimes animation created from aniblocks seem to get distorted. Is it a Genesis 8, 3, 2, or 1?
Are you talking about DFormer simulations. I don' think this plugin handles that at all. In addition, clothing often is smoothed out in Daz Studio as the character is moved around. That doesn't happen once moved over to Blender.
Thank you so much, the most important step is how to IK rig in blender after we imported the animation without loosing it ? because animating with those FK rigs is almost impossible.
I exported the preset as an action with the range selected and it still only shows the first frame and nothing more. Is there a fix or does Daz need to be updated?

I might actually do a workflow on how I currently get my animations to Blender. Right now, I am animating the character in Daz, saving the animation as a preset pose, and then using the diffeomorphic plugin in Blender to Import that preset pose as an action. Are you still having issues with the plugin on the Daz Studio side?
Dear W3. I got the diffeo export working for still poses, via a custom tab in the dropdown menu for dbz file, and with proper textures and high res mesh. however, I am stuck at this section of your tutorial - 5mins 54 secs - under the scripts folder - i go there, and there is nothing there. how do i get diffeomorphic installed there?
@@kromidevisions Here are the instructions for that. diffeomorphic.blogspot.com/p/setting-things-up-version-15.html . In the zip file for the plugin, there is a folder called _to_daz_studio. But you can also click on My Library in Daz Studio and select Browse folder location.

you can bake the aniblocks down to keyframes then save as pose preset per your vid. Nice tutorial.
This is true. I just seemed to have some abnormal behavior with certain animations when they cross over.
I exported the preset as an action with the range selected and it still only shows the first frame and nothing more. Is there a fix or does Daz need to be updated?
I figured it out. You have to bake the animation before you export it as a pose preset or bvh file.
The Daz to blender Bridge now allows you to import you motions along with your character, it appears.
if you are using smart content animation be sure to "bake to studio keyframes" There are tutorials on youtube it just takes 2 clicks.
