- Riverside County Sheriff Chad Bianco spoke at Inland Valley Medical Center, where Deputy Darnell Calhoun died Friday evening after being shot in Lake Elsinore while responding to a domestic violence and child custody call.
Darnell was a member of my church and was beloved by many. He was a quiet gentle soul who will be deeply missed. Rest in peace to Deputy Cordero and Deputy Calhoun. Senseless violence has to stop.
Rapture must be near with evil, climate chg & AntiChrist Putin, 1 of a few. Putin enjoyed killing children since he aimed for them. Sorry for ur loss, but Darnell is fine with God. U know heaven is Paradise yet grieving is hell.💜🙏💜
A domestic violence call is the most dangerous type call for LE! RIP to Deputy Calhoun! Just Nuts!

I have the upmost respect for Law Enforcement in this country, and I will never turn my back on an officer is trouble. No social worker will ever go on these calls without the help of law enforcement.
We all hate when such a thing happens and his family can be proud of him knowing he's a good man that was loved. Domestic violence calls are the most dangerous of all calls.

These calls must always be handled with back up on the scene. I say two or more officers and gun out of the holster before 100 feet of the home.
