I saw Yngwie Malmsteen play recently and his front man kept yelling out " Best guitarist in the world" I smiled to myself and thought "You obviously haven't seen BUCKETHEAD"
I was there! It was my first "solo/iPod" show. I had seen him 3 times previously, but they were all with bands (C2B3, Deli Creeps, Pinchface & Brewer). Needless to say, my mind was blown!
I think Buckethead could really bring Yngwie Malmsteen down a knotch if given the chance in a Satriani G3 show! Wouldn't that be interesting to see?Sorry folks but I LOVE Bucketheads 80's Horror style of playing! I LOVE IT I TELL YA!
GeorgeBonez I've seen Yngwie live, haven't seen Buckethead live. Once you listen to Buckethead and how skilled he is, it's hard to listen to anyone else. Would Joe Satriani invite Buckethead to a G3?? He should , Big Bucket is an amazing talent.
Kiwi Power Man the ultimate G3 would feature BH! Wouldn't that be the most awesome G3 ever? I doubt it would ever happen though because BH is so eccentric or whatever you wanna call it.. lol
GeorgeBonez Yeah you could be right. I think Joe would do it. He knows Buckethead is a superb guitarist and the fans would really love to see Big B on a G3 show. I don't think Bucky is eccentric, I think he is extremely clever and the story of being raised by chickens etc is brilliant.
Kiwi Power Well from what I understand ( and I could be wrong) but BH has been approached by bands OZZY, G&R and a few other BIG-timers but they always refuse to bring him onboard because he wont interview with his own voice and without the puppet and shit like that.. Don't get me wrong ok because I am no expert on BH politics and I am just spouting the things I've read online. That's why I call him eccentric. Like you say, Maybe that's just his master plan? I also think he is extremely clever too and I love how I feel when I get into the groove he sets his music when I listen.. :)Personal note:I have been playing New-Age and Big-Hair Metal style guitar since I was 14 years old and I am now 46 so whats that? ummmm 32ish years?? Don't get me wrong because I have been off-&-on all of these years and it hasn't been constant because I have to WORK for a living :) but I have tried my best to keep up at least in theory. I am nowhere in the same universe as these guys in my own playing but I'd like to think that I have an understanding of it (even when I probably don't) lol
GeorgeBonez Sounds like you are a skilled guitarist after jamming for 32 years. Bucky played for G&R and Ozzy certainly tried to get him on board. I've been a Sabbath, Ozzy fan for years but Ozzy couldn't get over the Buckethead costume. Ozzy wears his own whacked out shit on stage like Blue spandex pants and sleeveless T-shirt haha. Ozzy should have just let him wear some type of costume, then we could listen to what would have been a great combination of musicians.

yay i will, i just start loving buckethead music for 3months, the soft side i just heard before witewash,he is really fantastic, not only the skills, but with the feelings from the music....... btw really thx about ur help~
+revraaab Really? I read that he stopped touring in 2012. Of course, he could always start again. Wish I was going. Tell him that I said hello. Maybe he'll come to Pensacola or Mobile soon.
Ya gotta help me here. Just very recently got turned on to this guy, amazing. BUT i have watched a dozen videos now and you mean to tell me he cant play a single tue without some jackass stage hand running across the stage?CMON...
Pretty sure they run around a lot to look out for him i.e. Keeping cables out or other objects clear of the stage so he doesn't trip.. And helping him switch guitars and keep his show running smoothly.
Luke Sadler To quote Bob Ross: There are no mistakes. Maybe he thought it sounded more interesting that way? If you've heard the song three thousand times it certainly does, and I'm sure it's the same if you've played it a gazillion times :)
Horrible!!! Donde está la música??? Voy a escucharlo bien a ver si logro procesarlo. Lo dudo si.. es como escuchar a un guitarrista amateur practicando con sus juguetes!!!
"Master"," genius"," virtuoso", all mere words until you've experienced Buckethead.
seen him in 2008 with my gf at club infinity in williamsville NY. It melted my face haha awesome show.

I saw Yngwie Malmsteen play recently and his front man kept yelling out " Best guitarist in the world" I smiled to myself and thought "You obviously haven't seen BUCKETHEAD"
+Kiwi Power I wonder what Yngwie's thoughts would be on the bucket...
+tGhIeNrGmEiRte I'm sure he would appreciate the skill of Buckethead.
Kiwi Power His technical skill is 1 thing, but his emotion and improvisation skills are unmatched imo :)

I have GOT TO GET ME one of those stretchy guitar straps! AWESOME!
I like this guys riffs, simple but real effective.
Try playing them then they become a lot less simple
He’s a riff master imo
I was there! It was my first "solo/iPod" show. I had seen him 3 times previously, but they were all with bands (C2B3, Deli Creeps, Pinchface & Brewer). Needless to say, my mind was blown!
“Avant garde kabuki axeman” highly apt here.

Pure Genius, All Bucket. wish he'd play with Devo once...he's mates with their current drummer Josh Freese.
Good clean jamming can't be beat. Wish I was at that show. Soon he should be on tour for 2017? I'm there somehow.
I think Buckethead could really bring Yngwie Malmsteen down a knotch if given the chance in a Satriani G3 show!

+James Muncy Hope not, I'm seeing him next month in Richmond, Va.!
+revraaab Really? I read that he stopped touring in 2012. Of course, he could always start again. Wish I was going. Tell him that I said hello. Maybe he'll come to Pensacola or Mobile soon.

The Redeem Team
aelen71 Dude thx so much!!!
I love bucket and respect him as a musician , but I wish he would incorporate more melodies over his chords and riffs.
15:00-15:10 - what happened there?
Luke Sadler To quote Bob Ross: There are no mistakes. Maybe he thought it sounded more interesting that way? If you've heard the song three thousand times it certainly does, and I'm sure it's the same if you've played it a gazillion times :)
Why is this man wearing a bucket on his head? He could have been anything in world but instead he chose "Buckethead"... Right
It's a gimmick obviously. Now his guitar skills def aren't, ok maybe sometimes but all around this guy knows what he is doing. Gimmicky or not.
