- Howdy fellas, this week we're talking all about rare lego sets, i have a love hate relationship with them as its always fun to have a story attached to a lego set but then the price of these can get crazy.
Dont forget to subscribe if you like my stuff!
Old Castle is soo nice
yaa
@@andreagouff5089 Yeah
Gotta admit, I'm not the biggest fan of a lot of the "newer" lego content creators. Your the first that I've actually truly found my self entertained by based on two things, being your formula is simple and gets the point across, and you seem genuinely interested and invested (NOT LITERALLY STOP SLAPING PRICE TAGS ON EVERYTHING N00BS) in these sets from a simpler Era before the recent shift. So you've earned a sub from me, another Lego fan who can from what they can tell collects a lot like you do.
Thank you.
I would looove to see your rare Castle sets!!! Looking forward to the reviews.
Also, I have found the Dark Forest Castle/Forestmen series are rare. I had the big 6079 set and sold it.. like a fool! 😂😂😂
Oh god, 6079 is an absolute banger of a set too!
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
2:43 lol RetroBlasting has the most drawn out conspiracy theory style video about the possible symbolism of what’s on the cart in this set and its great! Lol cool to see it here!
Very cool documentary about the rarity of lego sets! I dreamed about winning that Chima set when I was a kid lol
Look at those old sets, absolutely amazing!
Shh! I was hoping no one would notice x)
I love how the mini figure teleports around the castle
Wow, that's interesting! Unfortunately I myself don't have any rare sets, just the ones that are more expensive now
Funny how some sets are rather common and yet still go for ridiculous amounts of money :)
I'm so glad I found this channel, the information, the jokes everything is top notch👌
As Lego Movie fan, I would've really liked to own that set, thanks for telling about it
these are some really entertaining videos, good stuff!
Love your content, just subbed! You're the British version of R.R. Slugger, hope to see more content in the future :D
Completely different than Slugger but I'm subbed to both anyway lol
I also had 6929, the Star Fleet Voyager! Embarrassed to say it's the first thing I thought of 14 years later when that new Star Trek series premiered 🤓
Great work!
This is some quality Lego content
That castle knights pack is in such good condition - good find!
Look at you flexing a sealed 6004, you have great taste. Mine arrived last week. Theres only a couple of those little boxes left in the whole world. Nice find
Great video. Subscribed!
Back in 2012 my dad’s friend gave my sister that dark forest set at 5:01 new in box for free and me a pirate one. I honestly still can’t believe it
Cant wait to see the Dark Forest video!
i love this dude, your style of video is entertaining, you have that beautiful unenthusiastic british comedy that makes me so patriotic, i dont know how to describe it, but you probably get what im on about, what it means is i can watch this all the way through, and im not ever tempted to click of at any time
Bro I Love Your Video Style!
HOW DO YOU ONLY HAVE 800 SUBSCRIBERS?!?! This video was so good, I went to subscribe, and I was seriously like… this can’t be right. Anyway, amazing video man!
That Jousting Tournament set do be bussin' tho.
Nice new theme, Legends of China
I DID NOT KNOW THAT CHIMA BIG BOX EXISTED... 25 SETS!?
Yeah, im so sad i'll never own it 😥
1:35 my guy casually flexed the cloud city boba fett
underrated
The Lego Box, What A Fun Money Pit
This video is bussin'.
The two rarest sets I have which still include the boxes are the black knights castle and the black sea barracuda. I've got plenty of other older sets but no other old boxes. The imperial trading post is a prized possession of mine, but it's not got a box.
All my sets are opened though.
Imperial trading post is definitely in my top 3 Pirate sets, pretty much all the destination/port sets just slap!
Agreed... I'm really lucky I have that one, Eldorado fortress, skull island and the enchanted island... I really want rock island rescue and forbidden island... But those sets passed me by as a small person.. I have think my parents weren't pro pirate exactly even though I loved pirates and castle Lego exclusively.
I do have the nesquik bunny
It keeps tempting me but then i went and bought 5986 -_-
little me wanted to collect every indy set, atleast I have the temple escape
Funny you used Rock Raiders for that joke. I literally just completed Rock Raiders them along with Life on Mars (barring 1 set) and yeah I spent a little over a thousand bucks.
Did you manage to get the Chief minifig? i keep eyeing him up but he's so damn expensive! Also Life on Mars is beautiful!
My favorite rare Lego is the Darth Revan May 4 promo minifigure. It's a beautiful rendition of his classic pseudo-mandolorian sith outfit.
I'm not sure what my actual rarest Lego sets might be. I can't find a convenient list with a brief search. It's entirely possible that the Revan minifigure is the rarest thing in my collection.
I've almost committed to buying Revan so many times now, its a beautiful fig but a little pricey 😅
I haven’t looked through my collection since starting college a few years ago, but I do have one set I really like. I’m not sure it counts as “rare” but I do own Jango Fett’s Slave I, set 7153
Oh shiz, that one's a beauty! First set I ever purchased that contained magnets, i was so surprised.
Epic video x100000000
This was perfect to get tierd tooozzzzzzzzzz
I’m watching the video and midway through I realize the exo force stuff in the bag I got at the thrift store today is remains of that exact set
When piecing together the sets from my childhood I found a black 1970s winch. The first try was 654, which however didn't work at all - I think I didn't even have the plate. So I went trying 1601, which in fact was only missing two or three pieces. However it's basically impossible to get an instruction for this and a won't even dream of a box.
Yeah once you go so far back finding just the box or instructions becomes a real hassle ☹
the rarest set i've properly HAD (all of my sets excluding my new 2022-2023 star wars sets have been lost to space and time) was the jurrasic world indominus rex breakout set, ive seen now its price has increased to around 400-500 British pounds.
The most expensive lego set i have is Black Pearl its first old set i ever buyed And ow boi i enjoyed !
Mine is probably the Lego 8480 Space shuttle.
When he said, a set from when the first Lego movie released, I thought he was talking about the adventures of clutch Powers! 😆
I've never actually watched that, im guessing its kinda bad? 😁
I miss the reasonably priced minifig sets of the 80s and early 90s. Idk how many town figure sets I had. Let alone a bunch of futuron or forestmen in hand on the car ride home as a reward for the day full of shopping with mom.
Yeah that's one problem i have with the battle packs, i don't want the little structures that come with it! Just give me a couple of cheap fellas to make my display a little more alive
i think lego leverages the fact that there is a lot of demand for minifigures by only including one or two in small sets and then a bunch in bigger ones. excluding the star wars battle packs i guess, but im mainly into castle so i dont know much about those
@@RobrickLego I think I remember this being addressed... at least, regarding the Star Wars licensed sets in particular. In *some* cases, Lego had rights to produce "play sets", or something similar, but not "action figures". So, apparently, one minifig with the ubiquitous wheeled cart, or little weapon rack might meet the minimum requirement for a "play set", but I guess it's harder to defend a single minifig or a little squad of them as anything other than "action figures" 🤷♂
With their own properties, I dunno.
@@TeflonDave Thats a myth
@@timewarpdrive77 is it? Even a brief search right now shows dozens of sources from Lego and Lego designers indicating that Hasbro has the exclusive license for minifigures while Lego is permitted to sell "construction toys"
I'd link, but comments with links never seem to get posted. Let's see... Here's LEGO STAR WARS CREATIVE LEAD JENS KRONVOLD FREDERIKSEN quoted on the subject: Jens- " It’s actually it’s more complicated than that. The rule in our contract with Disney is that we can make construction toys for Star Wars and construction toys in this case is bricks.
Minifigures are a part of LEGO sets and they need to contain of a certain amount of construction.
So we cannot just sell minifigures.
What about magnets and keychains? That’s kind of different as they are merchandise.
There was also a rule that sets had to contain so many pieces for it to count as a construction toy, so no, we cannot sell minifigures on their own.
It’s not something that we decide we don’t want to do - it’s something we just can’t do."
I mean, I guess if he's not an authoritative source then maybe it's all a myth. 🤷🏻♂
These comments are great for the algorithm, though! Keep 'em coming!
The cool thing about that Chima set was, I actually submitted a build to the competition to get that set, i technically had a chance to win it, but my build was horrible so not really.
technically as in 0.1% chance 🤣
@@RobrickLego way less than that.
We must take the holy land
I have the rock monster from set 990 so I think my dad used to own the set
The Knights Procession set is literally an enlarged battlepack. Cause I mean, a battlepack is a set which gives you minfigs of a certain army to build, and that's exactly it. This is my personal opinion.
Wow i didn't think of it that way, it literally is a battlepack of knights!
Haha, love ur vids, may i ask when the yellow one is American though?
Because he's packing a gun 😁
0:46 "Legend of China" 💀💀💀
Just you wait for the "The Origins of Legends of China" 😅
see that skyrim wallet makes me wonder about the possiblity of a TES set
Wait the only exo-force set I ever got was a special edition?
Oh now I'm bummed out cause I know I completely fucked up some of the parts as a kid
Its also a sick set to put on display :D
My rarest set is probably 9465 The Zombies.
I also have 6080, 6073, 6061 and 2 dark purple classic spacemen.
I had no idea there was a purple spaceman :O
@@RobrickLego - Yep.
Torso is in minifigures series 22.
Helmet and air tanks appeared in 80111 Lunar New Year Parade that came out in Jan.
Arms, hands and legs can be obtained elsewhere.
My grandparents own that
something with England on ebay man.
the shipping is always more then the item
Wife - how much money did you spend?
Robrick :)
was "legends of china" intentional? hehe, great video though.
Yes and no, my accent makes it really hard to say chima, after a couple of goes i just gave up and embraced the china 😅
that skyrim wallet tho....🥵
0:08 his name is Robin
Would you be interested in set 111? It's the starter train set
is it boxed good sir?
Sorry for delay. I have original box and many of the original pieces as well as some extra vintage parts.
Bro said legend of china
Make a moc
3:00 that thing was German exclusive? Well... given my grandparents were Dutch, I think I can figure out how our family got it...
It was made for Vedes, a collaboration of toy stores mostly in Germany, but also a few in the Netherlands. For me the set always looks like a bad alternate build for 6891.
1:31 WHY MUST YOU PUT THE LIGHTSABER HILT LIKE THAT 😭
The most expensive Lego thing I own is the fangpmpire general but that's because I just collect Ninjago instead of Star wars never been a huge Lego Star wars fan
Ninjago has some beautiful sets! Big fan of Temple of Airjitzu 😁
Legend of china 💀
aka every little kids dream
the rarest set i own and dont even really own is yet again that not really rare fortrex
China set
Make a moc
