Quality over quantity
DWP run me down when I was unemployed but these guys smoke the lot and ain't asked a question?. I knew a guy that was getting £880 a month and rent/CC paid but still smoked the lot. Yet again no questions asked?.
Absolute bullshit. This man is willing to blame his background but won't look inward. I grew up in the same place in the same era. Hackney was a hard place to live because of the poverty, but the violence was not on the street and no one HAD to turn to crime. People lived together and helped each other in the old fashioned sense. It was a melting pot of multiculturalism and being one of the few white families (I say families. I mean my and my mother) in the area meant nothing to people. Despite what people would have you think. I played with Asian and black children and was encouraged to do so. Families helped other families despite their backgrounds. As I said there was no violence. I'm sure there was drug trafficking and drug taking but it was kept away from the younger generation.
I hate it when people blame the area for their own shortcomings. Hackney was nothing then, like it is now. People worked hard and got on with the chore of living below the poverty line. They were as proud as anyone living in a mansion. Now all I hear is ''I was brought up badly and skint, so life owes me''. You are wrong.
100% agree my mum kicked me out when I was 17 because I wasn’t the easiest teenager I quickly went down a dark path selling stealing getting involved in gangs but I realised shortly before turning 18 it’s not for me the constant struggle isn’t the life anyone wants to live if the area is the issue then move away social services moved me far because I told them what I was going through everyone’s got a choice some people just like to have an excuse
