Great collection! I really enjoyed this movie! I rewatched The Shining right before watching this one and it was awesome to see the homages and scenes that were recreated in a new way for this one. It felt like a great sequel for The Shining that expanded upon concepts and ideas set up in the first one. Not to mention I love Ewan McGregor and what he brought to this. I enjoyed hearing your take on it! I actually just reviewed this, too. Great review!
I was shocked at how good at was. I read a good chunk of the book and they stayed pretty faithful to it. Would it make a better mini series on Netflix? Perhaps. But considering all the crap movies that come out now I think it was pretty solid.
I definitely agree re: mini-series. That would give the story telling so much more time to develop and simmer. It was totally fine as it was, I agree. Flanagan is a solid writer and director and I loved what he did with Haunting of Hill House, so that would have definitely been an interesting move to develop the story further.
Difficult decision! Jack Nicolson, or Steven Webber! 🤔
