Really wish this was longer. He deserves more time. Would've loved to hear how he plays "Cloudlight" here. First started listening to Eskmo back in 2013. "Cloudlight" was the first song I'd ever heard by him and was instantly blown away and hooked. So calm and peaceful. It really put me at ease. His whole discography is nothing short of amazing.
Eskmo has got to be one of my favorite artists. I've been a fan of his since I was only a young child. I have drawings of his song "We Got More" from when I was 4 years old. I have, starting at 4 years old, based my entire music composing hobby after him.
fippin love this. you can see and hear every interaction with the equipment. it's so natural and raw. Been a fan for so long and it's awesome to see the process.
Saw him in the woods in a lit up pyramid on a cool night in the fall of 2013.... and I couldn't agree more. That set changed me as a human and I have been hoping to see him perform live again... but it hasn't happened yet.
+PCPbarbie I've been trying to emulate his process and it's fucking incredibly difficult. Performing Electronic music like this? Who does it this way? This guy! Amazing.
+Jinestro Because he didn't sell out and is underground. All people want nowadays is loud in-yo-face music with crappy drops and tons of reverb (Big Room House and etc). I've only met 4 people who actually know and like Eskmo, Currently trying to infect everyone with his music and so far I'm doing a good job. People need to open their ears and listen to what underground scene has to offer.
I'm a huge fan. Have been for years, so meet one more!!! Doing this stuff live is not easy, setting up the system and working out a workflow to enable it takes quite a bit of work. I feel a lot of respect and appreciation for this performance. It was indeed too short.
Saw this guy on Hollywood boulevard all the way back in 2011 playing before Amon Tobin's ISAM and also seen him as his daytime alter-ego Welder and he's fuckin' mint. Been waiting to see him again for a long time.
He's an original all right but I swear, to me he sounds like a b-side session track between Zoe Keating and Boards of Canada. Artists like this fellow and Zoe give me new ideas about how technology could bring back to life the musique concrete pioneers in electronic music with looping and on demand sampling. It's really subtle music, like the working of a clock. You'll miss the beauty if you get pissed about the things that "seem" the same over the piece.
Been getting down to Esmko for like a decade, and this performance is awesome. But let’s ask ourselves a legitimate question: Should the government be paying for things like this? The answer is a glaringly obvious no.
Should the government fund any of the arts? How about public libraries - those are more about enriching people's lives than about providing a practical, tangible benefit in the way that roads and healthcare do.
Derek Hand You gotta be a hipster. Do you have a beard? Ride a single gear bike? Drink double decaf lattes? Do you think everything sounds better on vinyl? Stick to the mindless noodling of Eskimo, when you and your musical taste mature, you'll be ready for the real thing..

I too was hoping for a Cloudlight! I hope he returns to the music scene one day. I haven't heard or seen anything about him in several years

Seeing this 3 years later, unsure if it will make its way to you, but this was heartwarming to read, thank you. (brendan / eskmo)
Brendan is an amazing artist and being. I remember meeting back in 1997. Thought provoking conversations and music.🙏🤲

I was very skeptical when this started but the more he got into it, i was impressed! this guy really knows how to make some good progressive music!
his first discography is still some of the best work he has created in my opinion.
It truly is

Thank you so much for this ive been trying to comprehend how he puts his music together for ages
Right?!
@@Ostarahouse dude I posted that comment like 8 years ago 😂 still cool though
Shouldn't be discarded. It actually takes major skills to take these sounds and mix them together. It's a more technical, hands on genre. Love it.
+PCPbarbie I've been trying to emulate his process and it's fucking incredibly difficult. Performing Electronic music like this? Who does it this way? This guy! Amazing.

Saw this guy play in Melbourne, Aus the first and only time he'd ever been to Australia... Truly blessed!
Saw this guy on Hollywood boulevard all the way back in 2011 playing before Amon Tobin's ISAM and also seen him as his daytime alter-ego Welder and he's fuckin' mint. Been waiting to see him again for a long time.
The Humanity saw him as welder before blue tech at like 3 am at some festival in New Jersey in 2010

You just can't make real music on a computer, cool sounds, but not real music.
o plzz. one of the most constipated thought processes to be infecting the internet, ever. art is art man
Michael Murphy Art is art and shit is shit.
As your your music tastes grow and evolve, you'll see the difference.
Guy B. Dear lord you are an idiot... And you call other people Hipsters...
So sayeth the "Hipster" you are so hypocritical it's not even funny.
Derek Hand You gotta be a hipster.
