Don't miss the crash at the end of this ride! Other than that it is an enjoyable journey from West Glacier to Hungry Horse, with plenty of gorgeous mountain views
Date of ride: June 26, 2021
Distance in the video: approximately 10 miles.
Bike route: We begin from Lake Five Campground and follow the Gateway to Glacier bike path south alongside US 2. The bike path crossed the road and then disappears for a short while, leaving us to bike on the shoulder against traffic. We turn left onto West Side Road and follow it to the Hungry Horse Dam in Martin City, Montana.

      Hey Jay 👋
Yeah Liz bit it pretty hard on that ride. Luckily she came away with only minor bumps and bruises.

@@AmazingBikeRides I took one like that a little before my surgery. Bruises was all I contended with too. I love these biking videos you all produce. What amazing places to take a ride.

Hi Traveler, we use a GoPro Hero 8 and now a 9 mounted with various mounts. No gimble, just GoPro's image stabilization.

Yikes! Definitely didn’t like riding the shoulder against traffic on the highway, and there wasn’t much of a shoulder after that. And Ouch! I guess your tire(s) got stuck in the drainage gap. Glad you weren’t too badly bruised. That could’ve been a lot worse. 🚑👍🏽 No Stava? Thanks for sharing, be safe.

I enjoy riding along with you, it’s almost the only time I get out these days.
I’m originally from Montana and it makes me smile, feels like home. I was wondering if you might be planning a ride in the Gallatin valley any time soon.

Hi Robert, Yeah my bad, I forgot to turn Strava on for that ride. You're exactly right about what caused the fall, Liz came around the corner and dropped her front wheel into a deep groove in the bridge, and yes it could have been Much Worse.

Hi Maralee, to be honest I'm not sure where Gallatin Valley is - I'll have to look it up. We're full-time RV'rs and are a long ways from MT now but plan to get back sometime next Fall so maybe we can get a ride in the Valley then. Thanks for watching!

Hello all, I’m hoping one or a few of you have been around the USA enough that you can give me some direction. I’m looking to move out of sw Florida and one of the things that’s supper important is a cycling tribe. Any suggestions for areas to move that have a great cycling community? I’m not talking about beach cruisers or anything along those lines. I’m looking for weekly group rides with men and women that show up rain or shine to get the pain on.
Thanks for any help you might have. Be well.

      Hi Sean,
Being full-time RV'rs we have had an opportunity to see a lot of this country and I was surprised to see how active the bike scene is in the Spokane WA area. The downside is that it gets cold and windy so I suspect there would be months when it would be Very Difficult to ride outdoors but for the rest of the time the trail system is incredible.

Nice scenery and steady video, but the bad music makes it unbearable to listen while watching. Two minutes into the video, the music sounds like an annoying repetitive toddlers singalong. Them it switches to full on rappers delight scratch mixers. Try next time to match the music with relaxing scenery.

I hear you but we just figure that people will turn it down and use their own soundtrack.
