Michael Crawford was hugely talented and his work on, 'Some Mother's Do Ave 'Em,' ranks alongside that of Buster Keaton. He's an absolute legend and a very talented artist. I grew watching him as a child in the 70's- nobody else could touch him when it come to the stunts he pulled off. Balls of steel!
I grew up with Frank Spencer. It never dawned on me that he did so many dangerous stunts. I doubt that many actors would be allowed to do that these days. What a talented chap.
Watched this show in the 70s great entertainment Michael and Michelle were brilliant, amazing stunt work by Michael(and on one occasion Michelle)make the show even more enjoyable thanks for the post Auckland New Zealand 2023
He is an amazing and lovely man I have personally met him recently. I was still stumped to who he was left me absolutely speechless. We had a great laugh.
I actually remember the car hanging over the cliff episode from the original series but I only now recall all of the stunts Michael Crawford did to make the show such a success.
Thank you very much Alec! I'm glad you've enjoyed the KellyVision videos so far, I have a few more on the way when life isn't too busy. Definitely keep an eye out. Hope you are doing well. :)
It's funny the way everyone goes on about Tom Cruise hanging off the side of a building when Micheal Crawford was doing it on a TV show years earlier for humour.
I can't believe he did all these stunts, and they were real! Oh my God! Outrageous! I thought it was some trickery, make-belief. They risk their lives for money? This is totally crazy.
Almost too good to watch, knowing it's really him and he's so endearing yet we know he could actually very easily die when filming these things.....and if you take into account the multiverse there must be loads where he did but we lived in the one where he didn't.....Quantum eigenstate we're in has some positives!
The idea of him risking so much for others' entertainment is his biggest strength. So much could have gone wrong, but he made it out OK and even sang through Phantom of the Opera. Many stages of incredible talent.
Micheal done all he's own stunts and only had one bad injury, he fell 10ft landed awkward and ended up needing a new hip, but that was it out of endless stunts.
In not one of these documentaries and videos about Michael Crawford's stunts do they ever show or even mention one of his most insane - the one in the driving lesson where he drives over the railway tracks as a train comes past, and he actually has to swerve around the front of the train, the collision is so close. I can't even begin to imagine the risk taken, even at a slow speed, the train would have crushed him to death in the car. Yet you have to do some intense digging to find the clip.
These stunts would not be allowed now as Health & Safety bodies would throw a wobbly! Imagine the liability insurance?!! “ George’s House episode was especially funny. To the extent, I nearly had to change my draws!
When the first thing said is wrong, what point is there continuing? His career started in the 1950s, as Benjamin Britten's boy treble of choice, after a safeguarding issue arose involving the 11 year old David Hemmings (yes, the future film star) during the premiere run of The Turn of The Screw 1n 1955.

I'm glad you're still here, James. These KellyVision videos are really good. It feels like an actual VHS tape you'd find at the library.

Lovely man such a pity they dont do repeats of those shows today
Kind of wish they did, since that's how I was introduced to the show.
And, why isn't it available on UA-cam like "On the Buses", "Dad's Army", or AYBS?
@Ladeenian I know right? It's the 50th anniversary so it would have been nice. :)

Cut to somewhere in the background a worried dragon is chasing after him during these stunts. That's me. Michael Crawford's Dragon
Thats amazing! Must have been a really exciting experience to be on the set. :D
@JamezKelly ... I'm only 31. Doesn't mean I wasn't there in spirit

Doesn’t stop Tom Cruise. He does most of his own stunts in his movies.
@@beverleyferguson8942 any actor doing their own stunts, is talented good morning Beverley.
Can you imagine asking today's actors to do scenes like that? 🤣🤣🤣
Michael always wore gloves for his dangerous stunts.
Terrifying
