I should be working instead of watching a dozen of your videos.. but I don't feel bad indeed. I can't describe the joy of watching them and discovering another of my favorite songs covered by you again and again. Regards form Spain, specially to the redhead girl wearing glasses ;P.
OMG How have I missed this? I have lived with this song for years seen it live so many times but this has just given me a unique joy. I also kept wondering would they sing every line of the outro
I have saw Arab Strap live in about 96 playing alongside Mogwai. I believe that a young lady who had been dating a member of Belle & Sebastian ran off with one of the guys from Arab Strap IIRC.
Of course they do. It’s literally the title of the track and a central part of the lyrics. You think they’re not going to google it, let alone the director not giving them context? Stop clutching your pearls over art.
So im watching this video, and liking it, then realize that some of the lyrics are changed, or being sung improperly....and it occurs to me some in the choir don't know what an Arab Strap is (he has an arab strap, not from the arab strap)......so once I clear the coffee from my sinuses...I consider to strum my guitar, and decide maybe its not my place to ruin someone's day...you guys sound great!
I'm sure these are great people but I feel like this version sounds drone and unfeeling, where the original has an upbeat energy to it that is one of the most appealing aspects of the song to me -- the mix of melancholy and hope. Maybe that's just me.
One of the best songs ever written and now sung by these beautiful souls that sound absolutely amazing!!
sleep the clock around is also a gem by them
Happiness in a video! Arrrghhh so good I want to be friends with these people!
Melinda Ryan let's be friends

She's a waitress and she's got style...
Got tickets for usher hall. I really hope it can safely go ahead.
4:32 of shivers. This is awesome. Thank you!
A cover version that does justice to a great song.
Reminds me of the tv series "Teachers".
Absolutely brilliant. Thank you so much
Loved you version of a great song. All the way from Strichen, NE Scotland!

First time heard chorus version of this song. Nice choice!!
Nicely done! Uplifting. :)
So lovely
Brilliant guys

Superb!
With claps this version would be amazing.
Choirs aren't going anywhere. Just resting up
I like your attitude
Lovely.... just lovely 🌻🥰
Wonder if any of them know what an Arab strap is 😆

best thing! belle and seb!
great effort.
Muy buena versión
Well done everybody!
Joyous ❤️
This is awesome :)
theres a band called turnover, please do one of their song, I'll recommend new scream or cutting my fingers off on peripheral vision album
Cool
holy shit.
Fantástico 😍😍😍
👏👏👏👏
Beautiful!
Someone knows the notes in the sweet flute solo, please?
Why the fade out before the end?
It mimics the original recording. The line "Sunday bathtime could take a while" is barely audible in the original.

Agreed, fantastic version of the song... but the song is about Aiden Moffat from the band Arab Strap aka the boy from the Arab Strap
Actually you're mistaken. The original lyrics use both FROM AND WITH. "You were laid on your back WITH the boy FROM the arab strap."
That's OK... the writer of the song didn't know what an arab strap was either. His mother told him what it meant, after the fact.
@@olivergoodacre thank you I always wanted to know this
Hilarious watching a choir singing about a device that's used to maintain an errection
Oh I bet Stuart Murdoch would be absolutely moved by this...
Please, link the recorder score played in this rendition! I desperately need it!
more people
the boy with the arab strap was a band that belles were touring with it has nothing to do with a marital aid
Yes but what was the band named after, an Arab strap is a cock ring! A woman laying on her back with a boy with an Arab strap!
it’s Arab Strap
