I'm glad you don't need that for the new HR-V Sport. Hopefully the 2023 Civic models trashed auto start/stop, or at least have a way to keep it disabled in system settings.

@@717PROJECT Did you mean emissions? Then why does the HR-V not have it? At least on the Si, and probably the new Type R, you may be able to configure the custom setting to keep it disabled. I heard the cylinder deactivation on my 2006 Chevy Impala SS 5.3L V8 was also detrimental over time, and if Istill had it, would have found the best way to deactivate it.

@@717PROJECT I think it has more to do with mileage ratings than emissions, as these engines already run clean, but theyvare only estimates, as they may vary greatly, subject to how people drive, and maintenance and condition overtime, that can affect emissions, especially if the vehicle is thrashed and abused and not properly maintained.
Another reason for me liking the HR-V Sport more than the Civic, is besides certain OEM and aftermarket accessories, there is a lot less thibgs I would be customizing and modifying compared to all the stuff you've done, and will do with Blue, as it's not a show or custom car.
Probably the most expensive and extensive upgrade or add on will be the stereo, and will not be a custom show car setup, basically upgrading stock location speakers, amplifier, and maybe a DSP processor snd powered subwoofer.
If I got a new Type R or Integra A-Spec Technology Package, it would come eith almost everything I want, so besides the other accessories and add on, they would not be modified to much from stock.
Btw-I recently saw a dual horn upgrade on a Civic Sport Hatchback that was not too expensive, snd much louder the OEM Roadrunner beep beep ones. Maybe a good upgrade next time you take the front end off.
Easy install just need access and elbow room to swap out the horns. Or find some trained 🐒 or squirrel to do it.
I have the Idlestopper V1 installed and can confirm it works. They came out with a V2 that is fully plug & play (V1 required an extra step to tap into a wire). Installation is the same as you demonstrated but has the proper heads/harnesses to connect everything into one loop. Have not had any issues with it, and you can still turn it on/off manually if you choose.

Its not that big a deal (imo) when you learn how to use it as needed. ie not pushing the pedal all the way until you want it to kick in. I hated it till I learned how to use it, and it does save fuel on lights you idle at longer than about 7 seconds.

I don’t know why “Honda” doesn’t put that option on an update, because there is a option to put that irritating idle start/stop button off in new “Acura” permanently.

I've had a few comments about Idlestopper. Checked it out and ordered one! I'll show that in a future video.
I have used my idle stopper for almost a year on my 22 civic. its been great. I had some issues after 7 months where it would lose connection but I zip tied it down better. I think their cheap clap was not a a good connection. very worth the mod
As you probably now aware. IdleStopper has a new version (V2) for all 11th Generation Civics. IdleStopper works very well, however, the console can be stubborn. To remove/release the connectors you need to push on the small lever or stem on the connector. No, Idlestopper does not void any Honda warranty.
Ktuner also supports it now from what I've heard.

Look at your VIN. Your 5th and 6th are alphabetical and the 7th character is numerical such as 1 or 2. So after the letters FE has the number One or Two it will not work in your Civic.
However, there could be an updated design on the Idle-Stop bypass unit.

The Honda dealer told me if you put one of those on your new car it will void your warranty.

I have a question when you took off the center panel off i saw a wire that you had blue tape on i have the same wire that i can't find if it plugs somewhere or it was just there all along and i didn't know why it was there not plugged in. Do you know what that plug is for. Thanks in advance
Everything has a plug. There is no wire just there. Blue tape is from the factory. I will actually be removing it again in a day or 2 to install an idlestopper, the one that actually works, I hope.

Honda told me I would void the warranty if I altered that damn thing in any way.
Should have been an easy plug and play. So, no issue when taking it in for service or inspection. Just take it out.
@@717PROJECT thought about that. they implied that damn switch was an essential part of the computer system and that it would alter other parts of the system if altered. who knows. but yes, that feature angers me.

Just to confirm, aren't you able to put it in sport mode to keep auto start/stop disabled?
The only thing that ever worked for me is turning the A/C on. Honestly, I'm hardly in Sport mode.
I believe so, but I think Sport mode also defaults to Normal at engine shut off. I think the Si custom mode allows you configure it to shut off auto start/stop.
Hatchback Sport-Touring 11 Gen owner here. Sport-Mode fully kills Idle-Stop function. However, when you turn the car off and turn it back on, sport-mode defaults back to Normal mode, everytime. So either way, everytime you start the car, you're pushing a button to sport-mode, or pushing the start/stop disable button. Although its a habbit I don't even think about anymore, I do sometimes forget it after I get gas and come the first red-light once I jump off the highway, the car turns off and I'm all confused like WTF happend??? oh..right..I forgot to hit the dumb button.
TL;DR this shi should be off by default but ECO freaks got their way and its on by default I guess haha. Much as I dont want to pay $85 for an idlestopper, I might just be lazy and get one. Truth is its just a delayed switch and if you can solder your own components, can be had for like.. 5 dollars. All these $85 boards do is get power from the 12V accessory port ( from the rear, wire splitter ) and once they get power, they wait a delay of like 7 seconds, and tell a transistor to close, then open. Basically just simulating a button-push. Nothing $85 worth, but you pay for plug-and-play.
Waiting to see results though! If it works for you I'll just follow along with a V2 myself!
@@PhxSt0rmz So true, what I replied to another comment how it works. It's one thing to have it, but it should either stay off unless you activate it, or like the Si custom configuration mode, be able to disable it.
Fuel saving is negligible and totally dependent on driving habits and such. So, a lead foot would use more gas, or switch it to Sport mode, anyway.
Oddly, the new 2023 HR-V running the same N/A 2.0L engine from the Civic Sport does not have the auto start/stop, thank God. I wonder why the change, since it is mechanically similar to the Civic in many ways, including the engine and CVT transmission. I wonder if they will not be in the 2023 Civics. If they do, put it in the LX and the EX-L only, not the Sport/Sport Touring, etc.
