It took me years to beat this game. I got all the characters to max stats. Just to watch you beat it so easily. I had 2 fighters, wizard and cleric. You are awesome!
Same and this was back in 89-90. I swear it took a good 4-6 months to beat it. Just not giving up, gaining ground little by little. And what an accomplishment once you did it. Man.
26 minutes?? I think it took me 26 weeks to beat this in 1989-90 lol. I had nothing, had to call the old FCI helpline to get hints on dungeons and then a friend from school told me where the magic armor was. Other than that we just had to slog through it. But what an accomplishment it was once you beat it.
@@vintagepennies6899 yeah it was definitely a tough and mysterious game. Biggest hack was to create characters take all their gold then delete them, then power up your party. That alone took a few days. After that is when you actually play the game. But like I said I was fortunate to run into people who could give me hints and then of course the old help line directed me through some key dungeons. This was the first game that really hooked me to RPGs. Played a few others from this series too. They were the best of their era.
Never saw a speedrun of Ultima 3, cool. This was the first RPG I played on console and holds a special place in my heart. The dungeons were tough back in the 80's! Years later, with a Game genie I played a party of 4 wizards with infinite magic points, giving both wizard and cleric spells
It was my first RPG as well, I think it made me appreciate other ones more going forward. I still have fond memories of it though. There is actually a ROM hack that addresses some of the major issues this game has, was pretty fun.
I'm looking to run this game, but there seems to be no information on the step count/RNG manipulation out there. Do you have a tutorial or notes somewhere?
All the information you need is on twitch.tv/yogidamonk he has all the information in the section below. Heres the link: docs.google.com/document/d/10CKFLCpXPnoB9oDrD4LFusfTyGqxzHciWdt63KUTrt8/pub
Played this when I was a kid. I dn't know how but I ended up with a bugged party member who's name was random symbols and characters that had like 99 of every item in the game. (been a long time so might be misremembering the 99 count thing, but it was def every item in the game)
Game pauses movement of enemies when you are in a menu. It unpauses on the first frame you don't give input. So if you hold down directional movements it won't unpause. It doesn't work on the main world map/dungeons. In dungeons, the status menu is used to "re-enter" rooms, so you can get everyone marks without risking extra encounters.
I absolutely love the music it’s so mesmerizing. Especially in ambrosia

Did the Ambrosia music freak anyone else out as a kid back in the day?

I'm stuck on Cave of Moon.. I can't get out of there and Devil guard back to the main map cause the moon gates keep sending me back to the cave.

So the final boss is a floor?
Lol basically yes
This was my very first RPG. Boy how do I wish it was a better game, though. I can't play through it these days cause it's just so dull.

Bet this guy did great in the big 20
This game was so fun as a kid
Really cool run
How do I get the pirate ship to spawn in the moat at Exodus Castle?
Oh you got to the enemy castle after the guard snake via the land portal in 20 minutes
I just want to say PonyCanyon's port has much better music than the western computer versions.

how does the status glitch work?

👍👍👍👍
