Extremely well done my friend! Your videos are very professional and informative. In fact, so informative I end up feeling like a noob since there is so much I don't know hahah. Thank you for the video and keep up the great work!
Like your Beginners Guide, this is very well done! A lot of good information needed, put together in a short manner, but still explained well. 10/10. Any new player should watch!
Love you vids man. Jus starting, casually, playing Archeage (still hooked on ESO) But I love the sandbox and the above all, love world pvp. Your vids are a big help. Thanks
Thanks! I hope to revisit Wildstar sometime in the future, but right now the excitement is all about AA. Hopefully the Wildstar devs will catch up with the PvP criticisms in the meantime. It's really a fun game but with just poorly implemented pvp progression and balancing.
The opening song in this video doesn't have a confirmed name, but there's a video on UA-cam that gave it the name "Welcome to 아키에이지" (Welcome to Archeage).
Danny, thanks for the video. One rather complicated question for you. PVP to power ups is good. I always love world pvp. But what about meaningful PVP group? In other words, is taking a castle very beneficial to you and your guild? Are their negotiations? Bidding wars? Do you gain power by being in an organized pvp group?
At release, group PvP will be the most meaningful when it involves taking or defending people's trade packs, since the packs are worth actual money. Ship combat is VERY group v group oriented. On one of the Korean servers there was/is a pirate guild which controls the sea so well that if you want to deliver a pack to Freedich island, you need to pay them - like the mafia. Unfortunately we were just told that castles and the rest of Auroria won't be in at launch, although we can probably expect it in a patch shortly after release. Castle sieges are meaningful, because you can take or lose your castle and lands in a siege. To be honest, my early impressions of the few sieges I saw (one in person, two over twitch) were a little disappointing. In alpha, sieges were rare and the tactics just not very exciting. Lots of going turtle with immunity shields and PVdoor/crystal. It was also tough to get into them because space is limited for both attackers and defenders, which is kind of a good thing. I'll reserve my opinion and comments on castle sieges for once things heat up and we get to be participating in them (hopefully) constantly. I still think they might have the potential to become really fun. Most of the rest of the pvp you will be doing as a group won't feel too meaningful other than the pure fun of just doing PvP. The war in Halcyona might give you some real opportunity to shine depending on the population split. Also, I think that area control (like control of the Hasla token farming grounds) will be a big deal at release.
Hi, really nice Archeage videos. I hit 50 level recently and i do realise that like you say to have a good gear it's a big deal. Buy a proper gear are really expensive and craft it take too long because of Labor Points, it takes too much time. I've decided to move to Blade and Soul(i'm just downloading the gama) , any advice? any B&S video coming soon? Thanks Regards
TheZionico I'll be doing Blade & Soul vids for sure once it releases to the EU/US. It sounds like that might finally be happening somewhat soon. As for advice with Blade & Soul, something you should expect going into that game is that PvP does not play at all like the PvE. The combos and counters you use against players will feel very different. Don't be afraid to take losses in the arena because rank is easy to move back up, and the best way to learn to pvp is to "just do it".
Might be worth pointing out that since the sea trading was destroyed you will likely not find anyone on the open ocean moving anything except for the very rare occasion. Since the tractors and the new wagon people never trade over opec ocean and just use alts to get their designs for guilda.
I found the seas to be active and really fun all the way through the end of Alpha. Some trade did diminish because of the reason you mentioned, as well as the library grind (which wont be in for release), but many merchants still ran packs to Freedich for the extra reward. Additionally, fishing became very popular because it can be so lucrative. While it is definitely more profitable to sail the seas hunting fish rather than hunting fishermen, its a hell of a lot more fun to boost fishing boats than it is to be standing around on one with your pole in the cold water while working on becoming a Master of Bait.
That top is from the Abyssal Leather Uppers chest reward that is given for the "Dangers of the Hexmire" quest by Guardian Jorua in Hellswamp. The quest is level 36 but I think you can get it like around 31 or 32. It requires a couple of other very short pre-quests in the same quest hub area to unlock.
This video footage was actually filmed on a 5 year old Alienware Area-51. (i7 2.6ghz, Nvidia gtx580). The game apparently runs fairly decent even on an old PC. I'm putting together a new rig this weekend, so hopefully my future vids will be even better. I don't recommend buying an Alienware btw; they are overpriced, difficult to upgrade, and not even "out of the box" worry free.
Linus Struwe Right, you just need to do the daily "forgiveness" quests that I mentioned in this video to drop your crime points, or (easier) drink the forgiveness potions which can be bought from the loyalty point shop.
Hi~ I'm new in ArcheAge (kinda) just found this today and your videos are really good, good job! :D The pvp looks good, bad thing is that is so many types and zones..plus it's not my strong, but a game without pvp it's not a game (or so they say xD) but apart from all this, my question is, if you become a pirate, can you go back to no pirate? :) wanna see it all in the game but before I became one I wanna know this. Thank you^^
I'm playing on Kyrios East (Harani) side. The server is freakishly packed right now, but that will change eventually and at least you can count on it keeping a population when that happens.
I know this video is kind of old but I don't see why its bad being able to flag off quickly. You can still be attacked so it doesn't really matter like on other mmos' PvE servers.
It could be abused so that the "ganker" would be able to keep coming back and getting the opening attacks. It also denied some well deserved kills from lame players who abused attacking and running, then deflagging.
That opening made me laugh, I've played wow for about 7 years and a few years of rift and i'm download archeage and looking into starting to play the game and wanting to to have fun pvping in a game that has actual talent trees again.
Thanks! Just like the old WoW there are quite a few "ideal" builds in this game. However, even the "best builds" usually offer you much more freedom to mix and match abilities while still being competitive above what you could do even in early WoW. The builds for "what is best" varies greatly depending on what type of PvP you're doing (like arena vs naval vs large group). I hope that you enjoy ArcheAge and I appreciate your compliment!
Thisnot about pvp! the correct title would be " Glame play information", since I saw no pvp engagements or TIPS, very disapointed on that regard, however... On the other hand, is AWSOMELLY put together as a beginers guide to the game in general. Keep up the good work, maybe next time give us PVP Pointers, wich is what people THOUGHT when the openes your video Thanks
Thank you for the compliment. I apologize that the video isn't what you expected, but it is titled "Mechanics", and it is also an intermediate video. If players don't understand the bloodlust system, the "run away" mechanics, the honor reward system, or objectives of battle, then giving them tips about how to drop back out of bubble, or how to run through a caster to cause spells to fail because of facing, isn't going to really make a big difference to most of them. I'll get to the "advanced tips" eventually, but I wanted to get the basics out since I had a lot of these same questions when I first came to the game. My next video will be on naval combat, but it's going to be delayed since it just got shut down mid-shoot by the surprise launch date and Alpha ending. You might enjoy it more, since I'll be going over ways to catch, take, hit, escape and even grief ships.
so the guard system is kind off like the mmo i left to play this wow neutral guards will attack any player attacking another so the same rules apply so dots will trigger guard aggro too
It falls a little (or a lot) short of Amsterdam and definitely isn't worthy of a mention in any Ludacris songs, but yeah. That was a flash of Caernord's "Red Light District".
Cryfargaming Nanan I've moved on to Blade & Soul, which (hopefully) will be coming to the West later this year.(2015). I'm doing background research, gathering information while playing on foreign servers. 2016 is also going to be a crazy awesome year for MMO gamers, with around half a dozen titles already in the pipes.
sorry to reply so late but if anyone else is reading this and wondering, the game sometimes gives you that error message when the servers are overloaded and too many people are trying to get in at the same time. The fix for most people is to just keep trying to get in.
Extremely well done my friend! Your videos are very professional and informative. In fact, so informative I end up feeling like a noob since there is so much I don't know hahah. Thank you for the video and keep up the great work!

Another great vid! Looking forward to the next ones on naval PvP!
Great videos, always very informative and helpful. Been watching since I started Wildstar, and its great you moved on to Archeage like I have

Man i love your videos, and that sassy gay acttitude just adds to the fun, suscribed

nice information :D looking forward for the advanced guide
Hello, Coffee. I'm wondering how you did that view at 4:18, slowly moving. Can you tell me how you did this? Thank you.
Loved the guards/statue part. That seems to be a general trend in world pvp in mmos. lol It's hilarious when it doesn't work though! lolol
Very informative, keep up the good work !
your mic is sick
Another great guide. Thanks a lot.
Ok what song is that lol!

thanks for the good video.
Anyone know the name of the song at the beginning?

thats not entirely true on ollo server there is tons of sea trading.
what lvl you get that top at 9:08

ok ty alot man
keep it coming, great vids.
First song plz!
What is your pc configuration? Very nice grafics and fps.

I see, i have a fx 6100, HD 7850, for questing its ok, around 50~100 fps, but in towns full of players i get aroung 30 fps =(
Btw, your cat girl is so beautiful =p
What's that dance in the beginning. I can't find it :(
"Dance:Pumped Up" Push k then go to the basic tab and move it to a hotbar. It's a little strange, but dancing in AA isnt an emote.
Hey guys, I have a question. If you're part of the pirate faction, is it possible to rejoin your (or any) mainland faction?
If you go back to 0 crimepoints you turn back
Linus Struwe infamy points
Linus Struwe
Right, you just need to do the daily "forgiveness" quests that I mentioned in this video to drop your crime points, or (easier) drink the forgiveness potions which can be bought from the loyalty point shop.
