Great video, thanks for sharing and well done. The angel of the north was made in Hartlepool, my home town, but I live in Spain now so nice to see my old stomping ground 👍🚴
Thanks for watching the video and glad you liked it. Yes, Hartlepool is a long way by bike from London so it’s a part of the country I don’t know at all but I’d love to go back, the coast in particular was amazing but I’d like To explore inland too.
Cheers Phil, much appreciated. Yes, Scarborough was incredible, I'd love to get back to that part of the world and explore a bit more, inland possibly. Thanks for watching!
I am addicted to your videos and have watched all I could find over the past days. Loved the London to Milan one especially. Do you post on Strava and do you allow followers ? Cheers, Ian
Thanks very much Ian. Yes, I'm on Strava (www.strava.com/athletes/418219) but I'm not very good at checking there often. Very glad you like the channel, thanks for watching!
Coming from the North East I'm so pleased to see that you chose Tyneside as one of the earlier rides in your series. Nice to see that you had some company too. Will you feature other guests in the future? Looked like a great route - do you have it saved on Strava somewhere maybe? Great to see that you found an audax hotel and some really nice sunset/sunrise shots.
Hi there, very glad you liked the vid! Here's a link to the ride on Strava (I hope the link works...) www.strava.com/activities/7184916846 and it was an incredible route, particularly up the Yorkshire coast. I've had an awesome year on the bike in 2022 but this is one ride that really stands out and I'll never forget. And yes, maybe other guests in the future, too. Looking for ideas/plans now for coming months. Thanks for your support!
Seeing you both on that ride was so moodlifting and with that companie on your first km I guess time has been really quick. Frank has that humor cyclists need to push it. And at the end it was so surpirsing. The angel of the north is a perfect place to finish a ride but you have been there to fast. Ride safe and stay healthy.🙋♀Liebe Grüße and thanks for sharing your adventures!
Thanks for watching and glad it was uplifting! I was lucky to be able to do a lot of great rides in 2022 but that sunrise on this ride, over the bay at Scarborough, was one of the most beautiful moments and will stay with me. I hope you’re getting good moments like that too!
@@londoncenturies Thank you and yes after a period without a lot of sun I made a really beautyful ride the last days from our city of Braunschweig to the Harz mountain range. After my turning point cycled alongside the mountain range for an hour or so through hilly terrain and enjoyed the foggy day. I came to a short steep climb with a massive view over to the mountains and while I cycled uphill the sun came out over the mountains but it have only been beams that looked like gods flashlight. Amazing epecially when the body longs for a sunny day. That alone was reason enough to cycle for hours. Liebe Grüße👋
Well that ride was tricky, I remember getting a tad sleepy at various points. But it's surprising how you can keep going actually. You don't have to be fast, just don't stop! Thanks for watching
Hi Keith, I just checked and it was 364 miles, 587km but you know, it was that most of the big hills were in the second half when I was already getting tired. Glorious ride though, I'd go back to the Yorkshire coast like a shot if I can get the chance. Bottles: I always ride with 2 big bottles and just refill along the way when I can. Thanks for watching!
I've watched a few of your vids and I honestly don't know how you do it. It's insane. The longest I've done is 204 miles in 12 hrs moving time, and 14 hrs total. I'd only been cycling for just over a year at that point and had shoes that were too narrow. Consequently I was in alot of pain for much of it which meant I had to stop more than I wanted to to take my shoes off. I was wrecked when I got back and vowed to never do it again. So watching you doing regular rides like this is mind blowing. I will be doing another 200 miler in June though, now I've got better shoes. Looking forward to seeing how different it will be to NOT be in pain. 🙂
Hi Mark. Narrow shoes?? Nightmare! I spent years (not an exaggeration) trying to find shoes that don't hurt. I've only been partially successful. The difficulty is that anything feels ok for the first 4 hours and it's only later on when you discover whether you got a decent pair of shoes or not. Well done for riding for 14 hours anyway. As for it being insane, I'm not going to argue with you! :)

Incredible as always! Can't believe your stamina and how far and how long you cycle

Great effort well done ... I'm an English lad living in Australia .... You are an inspiration to this 64 year old rider.
Whereabouts in Oz, M P? A very long time ago I was a bike courier in Adelaide for a short while. Thanks for watching!

Smashing vid.
👍 cheers David. That was one killer ride. Glad you liked the vid.
Omg how do you cycle for such long periods with out sleep i would end up crashing the bike.

Nice to see picturesque Middlesbrough believe me it’s lovely once you get out of it a few miles 😂
😉
How many miles total? You look like you’re packed lightly. 1 water bottle seems like not enough water.
