@@chadmcdaniel438 the pacing is so awful with the anime. I’ve heard the manga is much better but it’s crazy to think that the anime is currently adapting chapter 1030 and has 1055 episodes. So less then a single chapter gets adapted for each episode on average and recently they’ve been adapting only 12 or 13 pages for every 23 minute episode.

Being a “pioneer” doesn’t mean he was a good channel, be honest if Dontai did what jinx did and didn’t say anything the entire reaction until the end then uploaded the video to UA-cam would you still enjoy his content?

To be totally honest,I think pretty much all the criticism of jinx’s content back in the day was valid. The truth of the matter is that he objectively didn’t post transformative content. If you enjoyed the content that he’d post then that’s totally fine,but I can see why other creators (especially ones he reacted to) wouldn’t be a fan of it

It’s crazy how Jinx along with many other reactors at the time were the true reason I started finding out everyone from RDC, Dontai (from Tyrone Magnus’s roast), Berleezy and countless others. Legit is a domino effect but in a good way. Gotta honestly thank them for putting us on to other channels, discovering them, etc. Gotta also thank Dontai too. He also helped out finding out other channels.

This is my first time ever hearing about Jinx (mainly because back in 2015-2016 I wasn’t watching many Black UA-camrs), but I honestly feel like he was definitely blacklisted on UA-cam for no reason. And I honestly believe had he ignored the hate and not switch up his content, he’d be way bigger today.
Nah, all the reaction channels that were blowing up, even the big ones died down. Dontai is like the only one who stayed big because he did change
we definitely know from Coryxkenshin that UA-cam has a habit of sabotaging channels. Yourrage & others stated the same, so it’s easy to see how he was blacklisted back then. The difference now is that content creators had vocal fan bases, so when people are blacklisted, banned, or given a strike unfairly, the fan bases would now attack the platform to support the content creator, such as Kai, Rage, Cory, Berleezy, etc.

For instance, after receiving backlash/hate from larger UA-camrs about his content, he stopped uploading reaction videos altogehter and uploaded another genre of videos (I forgot which kind) which caused him to lose a lot of subscribers.
dontai you can have this niggas back but lets be honest the type of reactions this dude would make vs the type of reaction videos that are present now are vastly different and it's the difference between what is in the line of being copyright struck and what is fair use. sure he might have started or at the very least popularized the reaction format that exists today but that doesn't mean that his shit was good or would be considered fair use or even that he transformed the original content enough to not be copyright struck.

A good reaction channel will provide commentary, some opinions, indication that they’re taking in the content, active reviews, etc. Being genuine doesn’t mean being stiff and providing nothing. That is why certain reactors were/are praised while others weren’t. Jinx was not a good reaction channel, plain and simple. He just mostly sat there, and asked for views/subs/etc.
If ppl didn't fw jinx they wouldnt have acknowledged him or given him a million subs, it's wtv content suits you.

I think the main point is that they didn't add much or not enough to the vids back in the day. Pewdiepie's reactions now actually adds something, Dontai's reactions have always added something that is the difference between now and back in the day. But it was just the early days of reactions so it makes sense that reactions weren't as good or didn't add as much back then.
