I have been fitted for the original P790 and love them
Nice one! Both good irons Ali and agree it would MOSTLY come down to looks and feel. But considering you hit some low necky strikes with both, the HMB front to back dispersion was more consistent. As for lateral dispersion, as you say it comes down to the pilot more than the club. Cheers

Interesting take on these two.. I was just fitted for irons and hit both of these. I did not go with either of these didn’t fit what I was looking for. However you mentioned the 770 felt better then the HMB . I couldn’t disagree with you more. The HMB was a much better feeling iron and not even close. Of course golf is subjective and all have our opinions. I feel my fitter was pushing the 770 on me and I just didn’t like them. I ended up with 921 Forged iron so will see how those work.
How do you hit the ball so well pulling your head like that?
I just put the p770 in the bag.. coming from ap2 714’s and I love these taylormade clubs they’re a winner for me

The numbers on all these comparisons are close, no matter the brand or model Ali. Your right, it comes down to look and feel. We do like your reviews though. Informed choices before spending the cash. I could never afford any of these irons so you can test em for me!
Look and feel always win, when numbers are similar. But if you don’t like the look or the feel, at the end even the best numbers don’t fully satisfy...
I enjoyed this review. I have P790 irons, and I don't really get on with them. Yes I had them fitted, and lived them on the eange, but once I got on the course, I just couldn't enjoy them.
I was thinking of either changing clubs, or maybe a lesson on the ciyrse, not on a range. Any suggestions please? I currently play off 16..
Ali , thanks for all the imperfect shot! We regular golfers never hit dead on center. So Miss hits are very important. Sadly with indoor mat / hard floor it’s hard to see distance drop during some chunks.
Great video Ali, just a question: after how many years would you suggest to look for a new irons set?
I still like my apex cf16, but I wonder if I’m beginning to leave on the ground some actual improvements, distance or forgiveness wise.
I would say generally 4-5 years but depending if your ability has changed a lot maybe quicker than that.

Just came from hitting both these clubs so finding this video was interesting. I actually liked the feel and sound of the MIzzuno better but thought the TM had slightly more performance and forgiveness. Hard to chose between them for sure.
So did you get any of them?
Great video, I’ve ordered the p770’s. Just a very long wait now till they arrive. I’ve got Mizuno jpx919 forged now, I’m a bit worried I might have made the wrong decision going hollow bodied. What do you think?
so what was the verdict? Are you happy with the P770. Just placed an order of them over JPX921 forged
@@scottlean690 I’ve had them a week. I love them. They feel soft. They are louder than forged but not clicky. With the 120s stafts they launch very high and go about 10 yards more than my JPX 191 forged. The biggest different it that I can hit my 5 irons consistently. I always struggled with the JPX. Would I swop back? No chance
@@nickhaslam3253 good to hear. I tried every shaft and for whatever reason the PX LZ 5.5 gave me the best workability that day went with that although wish TM offered the shaft in black to match the Jet Black Vokeys I also ordered with irons.
Looks like the P770 will be the number 1 iron this year.
HMB were in my bag last fall.... p770 was not even on the drawing board yet...
You should include mishits. Off the toe, heel, low on the face, high off a tee etc. More like the hackers we are. Lol
a tip : you can watch series at Flixzone. I've been using it for watching lots of of movies during the lockdown.

Seems like the TaylorMade goes as long or longer with 1* more loft. Seems like a winner

When many people ask for it, it makes sense: I would have asked the same comparison, because these two are the irons I like the best...
On the comparison charts770 had more ball speed not the HMB 👍🏴

Not at all, Adidas are nothing to do with TM anymore. Adidas do look after me fir clothing but I have no association with any club manufacturer.
