This DIY chicken coop build is amazing! I love how thoughtfully you designed it to be so easy to clean - that makes all the difference in daily upkeep. Your attention to detail and practicality really shows, and it’s clear you’ve put in a lot of effort to make this coop a comfortable space for your chickens. Thank you for sharing your process and helpful tips; this is such an inspiration for anyone looking to build their own coop!
So sorry that I don’t always leave comments but I know how important it is for the Algo. Thank you for sharing so many projects here on UA-cam. Great work 😊 Blessings, Carlos ✝️🙏❤️😊❗️
Every project you do is well thought out. Love the idea of using a broom to sweep away all the crap into a bucket for composting. Keep up the great work.
I'm getting ready to begin building my first coop and run. I have watched a LOT of videos, and your coop makes the absolute most sense of any coop design I've seen. Thanks SO much.
Hi Andrew the larger Coop looks very nice and solid, nice design. Love how you levelled the floor area. Your chickens are going to have the high end of chicken living for sure. 👍👍❤️❤️🇨🇦
I have a 8x16 run, one thing i added was perches in the run for my flock to hang out on. I used some tree branches and PT 4x8. Gives them a place off the ground when they are hanging out.
Very nice build Andrew. 25 years of concrete construction and that's the 1st time I've seen screeding that way. Very nice. I've always went down both sides with dirt or sand bed and layed emt conduit or 1" steel pipe and screed off both sides. Nice trick your way when you are by yourself 👍
Create a live feed-channel(s) for hatching chickens. IR cameras throughout the coop with a way to provide public access to the DVR or a single video feed so that viewers can watch hatching chickens all day or night. Might not get a ton of viewers during the slow times or at one time, but, I think, it would certainly have some viewers watching for hours. The whole chicken hatching process is so mysterious to people that have never lived on a farm or have never been around a farm with chickens. It may also offer some insight to those looking to add chickens to their off-grid homes.
Awesome. I feel your heart went into this project for you chickens. Happy chickens betty eggs and eating. Keep it up brother you have an amazing heart.
Watching this i cant help but wish you were my big brother. Awesome video man. Good knowledge, will be applying a lot of these tips to my plans. My chickens will be happy, safe, and have a long term-well built home.
Love this coop design! East clean out was a must for us too. By the way, I can’t recommend the Run Chicken automatic door enough, it’s pricier but much better built and way more durable than the cheaper knock offs (buy once, cry once).
When we got are small chicks, about 5 days old. We used our large dog kennel with the sides skirted with cardboard. We turned the kennel on its side so the gate opened at the top.. Made it very easy to contain them and easy access to feed and water them. Nice build by the way! Will definitely use some of those ideas... really like the slide out dividers for the nesting boxes.
I really enjoyed your video with your well thought out commentary. This is a great coop, well designed, with all the important functions considered - tractor access, cleanout without having to stoop down. I'm in the middle of a coop expansion and will implement some, a lot of your coop design into my new chicken shack. Thanks!
That's a helluva coop - love the design! 👍As always, you have outdone yourself. You should have the happiest chickens in the county. Can't wait for baby pics 🐣- congrats Grampa LOL!💜💜
Great design! Save time with the shavings on the ground, just dump the bag in one pile the chickens will spread it for you. They seem to love the job, keeps them busy scratching which is there favorite pass time.
That turned out nice , nice run too. I don't remember if I knew about the right way to run the door brace or not if I did that will refresh my memory on it. I did know about running the wire out from the bottom of the run but I never thought about the tent stakes, thanks.
Awesome!!! What a great chicken coop build! You really did a fantastic job and I love it!! I have seen some videos where they lay some inexpensive sheet vinyl on the floor area so the wood doesn't exorb all the stinky stuff and they say it makes it much easier to clean, as well. You came up with a terrific design, Andrew!! 😊❤😊
@@TKCL I built mine out of light stuff like metal studs a had left over. Did this in an attempt to keep it lite enough to move it around to new grass and fertilize different spots. Long story short it ended up basically to heavy to move anyways. I shoulda just built it more permanent but it’s working.
I'm so behind watching my videos. Taking care of mom after knee replacement surgery. But I saw this pop up and had to stop and watch. It looks great and doesn't seem that hard to build. Love all the special touches you put in it. I'm sure it'll weather the storms and be around a long time. 👍
Wow...really nice, neat and clean. Very smart build. I too have watched a lot of videos on chicken coop builds and I really like your setup. Very talented and you make it look so easy!
Line the floor of that elevated roosting area with linoleum. You’ll find it much easier to slide poop & shavings right out and it’ll keep you’re floor from rotting over time. Great job in you’re design & build. Gave me lots of ideas for my future coop build. I also subscribed. Keep those videos coming!
Heck, that is the most coolest chicken coop I've ever seen. I'm sure we can get Chris in there and he won't be able to get out LoL. If you put a swing in there, Chris will really be happy. He'll never want to leave ahahaha. Just need some 🧀🧀🧀🧀🧀🧀🪤
The coop is really nice, Andrew. It's obvious you spent a lot of time planning it. Like everything else you do, it looks professionally built. And the homemade float, what a great idea. Congrats on your new baby chicks. I know you and Tiffany are going to enjoy watching them grow up. They are just too cute. BTW: If you guys have funds in a small regional bank, now would be a good time to move it to one of the 15 larger banks.
I've been listening to and watching the financial situation. I feel the small Banks and our money will be okay, all of it because the reckless government will print more money to cover it causing further inflation problems. With that said we've been using that money to pay off things and put it elsewhere.
The Cadillac Coop Deville lol. I’ve watched Carolina Coops UA-cam channel for sometime. I plan on “borrowing” some ideas & designs from them for our coop.
Clark & Deborah : Nice build, Andrew...We use sand in the droppings area and take a cat scoop to get any dropping...then we only change the sand every so often.. just a thought.
Hi, Andrew! You must have been super busy this week. You used a clever technique to level your dirt in the base of the coop, Mr. Thinker Tinkerer. Love the coop!
Awesome coop Andrew !! Two comments #1 )don't waste your $$ on an automatic pop door . We never close our door , predator proof coop does t really need it . #2) before you load stuff in the storage area drill out some 1/2" air holes . Never have enough ventilation in a coop , make covers for the side windows if there is a hurricane ! 😊 your chickens will love the new digs !!
Some recommend 24” hardware cloth deterring predators from digging. Thanks, I will upgrade structure given to me for the newbies we hatched. It was falling apart, so I disregarded it.
Nice Job Andrew. Are you thinking of adding a rainwater catchment barrel in the loft plumbed from the sheds roof and then plumbed to automatic waters in the coop/run? I like to hang are feeders then the chickens can't scratch shavings into them. For chicken entertainment hang head of cabbage from a rope.
I have a very unique watering system in mine later on. My feeder is also hanging. I've seen that cabbage trick too, it's funny to see them peck away at it.
I love how you over build things, do it right the first time. Great job.
Thank you
All you need is a sign indicating Poultry Palace.🙂 Excellent job.
Awesome project. Love ruger laying in the cool dirt!
He's all about cooling down.
Andrew The Chicken coop looks good CHICKEN HOLIDAY INN. Congratulations on the new chicks.
Thank you sir
This is the best coop build I've seen. Very organized and well thought out.
Thank you, still working great, especially with cleaning.
Thank you for the comment on the brace direction on the door. Very helpful to me going forward.

Great shop class!
Excellent Excellent work on that coop, Very impressive.
Thank you
I’ve been waiting for this and I’m so glad the chickens are getting new quarters.
They seem very happy!
Great looking chicken coop. I knew you would overdo it like you always do, and it sounds like your rooster is found a last little bit of his song

She's up to 3 chicks now 🤞

Great design! Save time with the shavings on the ground, just dump the bag in one pile the chickens will spread it for you. They seem to love the job, keeps them busy scratching which is there favorite pass time.

Yes the chic Hilton ❤❤❤❤ love it❣️❣️❣️
Hardware cloth should run several inches down into the ground and then outward to prevent predators from diging underneath.
Great chicken coop build Andrew. I like the convinces you made as far as maintaining/cleaning the coop. Thanks for the video.

Andrew, you should develop your coop plans as a for sale pattern.
Happy to see you used welded wire instead of the chicken wire.
Yes it's a much better wire.
