Don't forget that jumping rope also trains balance and stability. Increasing those can legitimately add to our longevity, it's kind of a downer but most people would be shocked at how many deaths among the elderly occur due to a loss of these two things. Once an older person starts falling all the time their prospects for living much longer become extremely dubious.

This is real, that's how my granddad passed. He tripped just going UP the stairs, hit his head, broke a rib, and never made it back out of the hospital. Balance and being able to transfer and carry your own weight is super important especially as we age.

Mine too, very healthy 93 year old but tripped in the driveway, never made it home after complications from the surgery to replace it.

Ι got both types. Classic is the default for outdoors, gyms or big rooms. On the other hand ropeless are PERFECT for indoors and tight places. Now you got no excuse "i dont have enough room to jump"🤣

Facts. I got so much crap in my home that ropeless jump ropes are perfect. I also trip doing boxer so this will improve my footwork of getting in the habit of doing that.

Hi! I have started my ropeless jumprope workout 2 months ago, because I suffer from CP and I just feel much more confident not to worry about me tripping over. Matching it with jogging sessions and gym workouts makes me so phisically active, definitely much more than i've been in the past and it gives me so much fun. However, I will try to learn how to jump "normal" jumprope. Your channel is very helpful and informative guys:) #DoTheThing

I just started jump roping … with a hopeless jump rope. I like it so far. 5 min a day every day or two right now. Coming back from a running injury and my PT recommended.

I'm glad I bought them. After seeing some of the training videos, I did one for strengthening my legs and ankles. I did one 15 minute session, the first week. I felt that workout as the week progressed. I was however more flexible and had more energy. The leg and ankle workouts are awesome and allow me to move at my own rate.

Down 17kg since December - the majority of which was using ropeless while on the stationary bike thanks to tearing my MCL. It's no jump rope, but in incredible workout and very easy to maintain HR zones and doing Hiit (with 1 lb and 2 lb).

Thanks for this video! Here's the reason I've been curious about ropeless jump ropes: I have trouble keeping my arms - especially my dominant right arm - in the right position when using a rope. This is probably because I developed bad habits when I started skipping. Whatever the reason, I've been struggling lately to correct this when using a rope. My so far very limited experience with ropeless indicates they may help because they allow me to focus on locking in my arm position. I ordered some crossrope ropeless ropes that will attach to the handles I already own, so they weren't too expensive. Plus, they'll emulate the 1/4lb rope, which I use more than my other ropes. And when I finally get my muscles trained to keep my arms where they should be, I'll still get good use from the ropeless set when I'm somewhere it's not possible to use an actual rope. All told, I'm thinking I'll get a lot out of the ropeless set.

I've never used ropeless, but if it helps people then great. I've loved jump rope my whole life. Idk about the US or if they still do this in school, but we had jump rope for heart (Southern Ontario, Canada). Teaching us about heart health and the benefits of jumping rope. I used to have a jump rope book of rhymes. Double Dutch rope at every recess. It's just so much fun when you master it, it's so rewarding.

Not sure if they still do Jump Rope for Heart in the US. I know when I was in elementary we had them. Was nice and fun event. Good memories. Always thought I was cool back then being able to jump rope and like jog/run around the track lol. Everyone else couldn't do that but they could do the tricks I couldn't do lol.

A word of caution for anyone considering ropeless - longer workouts might cause wrist issues. By design, the centripetal force with the ropeless system is much more focused on your wrists (as opposed to on your whole body with actual ropes). You’re essentially swinging a weight, so you can imagine how doing this for prolonged periods of time might stress the tendons in your wrist. Wouldn’t recommend going past 20-30 min. They’re a good tool for beginners to get started, but as you progress to higher intensities and longer workouts, I’d 100% recommend moving up to actual ropes.

I don’t think it should cause harm if you’re warmed up and using correct form

@@JumpRopeDudes U could be right. I tried 1/4-1/2 lb ropeless, which doesn’t feel like much compared to the actual Get Lean set. Might have overtrained by spinning the ropeless too fast lol. You live n learn ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I recently got the ropeless and I enjoy them. It’s easier to do it due to lack of space. I’ve got bad knees so it helps with that, too. It is a bit different, though

I have both. With your 5th point I slightly disagree. I’ve done many of the tricks that you do in your videos with the ropeless and it translates perfectly when I switch over to a rope and back to ropeless. Whether that’s crisscross with feet, boxer jump, one leg, run in place, high knees, run up and back, etc. Ive done it and it feels natural and the legit same as a rope for me. I’m over 6’5 and athletic and can’t tell the difference except one is a rope and the other is ropeless. The only things I couldn’t do is the double under and crisscross with ropeless which sucks but it’s okay. I feel the burn in my whole body (core and legs for sure) and sweat like crazy. But I appreciate this insight!

I have the Crossrope 1/4 lb and 1/2 lb ropeless sets. The only time I’ve used them was to maintain my streak in the app when I couldn’t use my ropes. That’s an expensive way to get on the Leaderboard and earn a badge! They weren’t worth it for me. I think if you’re using real ropes, the ropeless sets aren’t appealing. But I agree that for people who don’t jump rope, ropeless might be a good gateway drug to eventually jumping with ropes, especially if used with the AMP handles and app.

I have no evidence, but i feel like spending a lot of time using a rope less would set in bad habits that would make it harder to transition to a rope than just starting with a rope.
